I think its called 'disappointment' Cortez.. Here was a chance to get a point. I was not there, but from the sound of it we did very little all game.
the **** performance was the result of the **** tactics and **** team selection - another Brucie ****-up - you could tell we were in for a long afternoon as soon as Elmo ran down the wing and stopped at the halfway line as if under orders - and that's as far as he got all afternoon until we went for it at the end and showed what might have been if we called it right in the first place - Stoke were there for the taking today but we just battened down the hatches and tried not to lose - Ramirez, poor, Meyler, aimless and Bruce, cra (b) or (p) (either letter applies)
A bit harsh Bob but I have to admit that if I'd paid good money to travel to Sjoke today I'd have been well pissed off to see that we were basically starting the match with no strikers, and with a £10m one on the bench. Personally I'd like to have seen Hernandez start with N'Doye and replace the latter when/if he tired, by which point we could have been a goal or two to the good. There again I'm not a football manager so I'm probably just spouting bollocks. Anyway hopefully today's result has ended any chance of Brucey winning manager of the month.
Some posters are posting through disappointment and that's fine. Some other more regular offenders are being their regular dickhead selves.
As a veteran of three relegations, the Dolan years and the likes of David Jones/Andy Brown (delete to preference) turning out for us, that game was up there with one of the worst matches I’ve ever seen following City.
It did feel like a depressing loss but that all stemmed from the selections and the way that the team were set up, I'm really hoping that it had little to do with Mike Phelan.
I agree regarding tactics and I am very disappointed that we didn't go for it as I believe Stoke were there for the taking. It was very difficult and frustrating to watch. Let's hope for a better performance onTuesday. Incidentally, the games on Sportsnet World.
I've just seen a photograph of Stephen Ireland's leg after Figgy's challenge yesterday. Not nice. The Daily Mirror have got a poll asking whether Figgy should get a retrospective ban. Just thought I'd mention it.
I'm not justifying Figgy but if Ireland saw red for his like he could have done, he wouldn't have suffered this.
Correc t team selection imo and the game had 0 - 0 written all over it. And as like Qpr last week the defence makes one mistake and a goal is scored from Mr High Tower himself. Thankfully no real damage was done (other to Irelands leg) as the other teams below us who played also lost. Sad news about Robbie Brady but 100% full focus now for the Slumberland game on tuesday night.
Have you seen the picture of Ireland's leg? Pfit, all the fuss over a graze. please log in to view this image
Ireland was laughing after going in two footed on Meyler. Wasn't the story that Ireland stopped playing for Ireland due to him being bullied by the rest of the squad?
Got to admit I was very disappointed to have seen only one shot on goal against a poor Stoke team and think changes should have been made much earlier, I felt sorry for our midfield at times. Any way its now gone Sunderland and Leicester next which are very important games because of our difficult run in after that. We really have to back the lads now because daft as it seems with only 11 games to go around 33 pts could be enough based on other teams current form.
