The ONLY reason we have any territorial advantage is because Sunderland are sitting back. Little if anything to do with us opening them up or pushing them back.

If the goals were either side of the pitch we'd be better than Barcelona <laugh> <laugh>

Barcelona also play the side to side game. Its part of the possession game. Keep the ball moving side to side while waiting for an opening. They have messi who can create that opening at any moment and iniesta who can find a player through tye tightest of gaps.

We are not there yet. Barcelona are schooled from a very young age in that style of play and have best players for it.

We need to speed it up (down to the players) and we need players to move.

Which is why we play side to side. You cant walk through 10 centre backs.

Waiting for an opening???? Are you serious? And NO NO NO Barcelona never passed it side to side waiting for an opening. NEVER. They play triangles mate. It's basic school boy stuff. Possession for the sake of possession it aint.

We just had a corner and it ended up with De Gea after 3 passes ffs!

No you need pace and movement.

We are getting better as the game is going on UIR <ok> We're playing at pace and players are making runs into space more now.

Arsenal play triangles. Barcelona keep the ball and play it side to side to drag tge opposition all over the place. As do Bayern Munich.

It also requires ball carrying centrebacks as they are key to dragging the opposition out of position. They can create the extra man and therefore open up space. Tge idea is to hit that space as quick as possible.

Bayern use Robben, Barcelona use Messi. We should use Di Maria.

I am not saying we play the same way as either but the basics of the style are the same.

Theres a link between all 3 sides though and a reason the other two are far better than us. More practice and a succession of managers playing that style.

No they don't <laugh> Ypu're coming out with some insane stuff mate. Don't be so blinded in your support for these stupid, mundane tactics. We're not Barcelona but we have players who play better than LVG has them playing.

This is risky tactics by Poyet. Unless they get a break away goal, they are going to be fcking tired come the second half and end up getting drubbed in the last half hour.

Its what both sides do and exactly what van Gaals teams have done in the past.

For us it is just too slow amd theres not enough movement off the ball. This is important in such a style as you will always be facing 10 defenders and you need midfielder or defenders to create tge extra space.

And guess what. As the second half wore on I saw Evans breaking forward. Suddenly we looked better, quicker and more urgent. It needs to happen more though.

Our issue really is runners. Without them we have to pass sideways or we end up playing it forward to an attacker with his back to goal and 7 out of 10 times we lose the ball and the opposition break. High risk and low reward policy.

Look how hard Bayern and Barcelona work both on and off the ball. Thats why it works for them. When our players put in a shift that compares it will work for us too.

Di Maria off. Januzaj on. Strange, I thought ADM was getting better and better as the first half went on.

He was awful. He did get better but tye starting point was awful so it doesnt count for much.

Still, van Gaal is starting to show his true colours. I think his nice guy act is coming to an end.

Obviously people will claim Di Maria is getting sold but this will be the kick up the arse he needs imo.

Prime example treble. Blind brings it forward and only falcao shows himself. Blind passes it and falcao is immediately under pressure.
