I came on here because we have no debates of this sort going on on our board at the moment. When you post opinions on political threads you must be able to 'take' as well as 'give' ie. be able to cope with opinions which contradict your own - without resorting to personal abuse. I suggest that if you have problems with any of my opinions that you try to explain why that is the case, otherwise no debate is possible.

I wasn't talking about the Paris attacks Andy. Your post above may well be correct.

I was talking about the murder of women and children in Pakistan. If you agree with the idea of such happenings as merely unavoidable civilian casualties then one may call you, with some justification, a supporter of terrorism. There were many innocent people bombed to pieces in the UK also in order for the bombers to get at their actual targets. Birmingham pub in 1974 and the M62 coach bombing for example. But I suppose that was just unfortunate collateral damage, eh Andy?

C'mon lad. Put your thinking cap on for fukk's sake!

It is not acceptable to have a go at our allies for seeking out terrorist groups in Pakistan.
They have full support from the Pakistan government for doing this for a start.
Without the American drones there would be more bomb attacks out there every week on schools and other innocent people.

America do not kill women and kids but terrorists use them as shields.
    Surely you know this <doh>

The drone attacks in Pakistan have killed up to 900 unarmed civilians, including up to 200 children - not to mention a School and a wedding party. Amnesty international have concluded that some of these strikes constitute war crimes. The Pakistani PM Nawaz Sharif has condemned these strikes as not only an invasion of territorial integrity but also as highly unhelpfull in the war against terrorism. I suggest you spend a little time looking at facts before jumping in with both feet.

As i said you are lucky you live in a place where you can express your views without being persecuted. These outdated religious freaks deserve to get what they give out.

Lets be fair Ellers, I recently visited Birmingham and free speech or not you've got to be bloody unlucky to live there. Funny thing about Birmingham is that it will soon have an amazing looking John Lewis, Thats bigger than loftus road, maybe we should get them to do our new ground, if there still around then.

Really puts a positive spin on Swindon.

Given it's a thread about religion....

....when He gathered with the sisters and others mourning Lazarus’s death.

    John 11:35

    Edit:

Bringing it back onto football matters (and away from religion)....

Mark Lazarus (born 5 December 1938) is a retired English professional footballer. He played as a right winger and made more than 400 Football League appearances, scoring over 100 goals. A prominent Jewish player, he initially chose football over boxing and followed manager Alec Stock first to Leyton Orient and then Queens Park Rangers. He transferred to Wolverhampton Wanderers for a club record fee, but due to a clash with manager Stan Cullis, he moved back to QPR after only nine games. He then played for Brentford before signing again for Queens Park Rangers. In his third stint with QPR he scored the winning goal for the club in the 1967 League Cup Final. He moved to Crystal Palace in December 1967. He moved back to Leyton Orient, before moving onto non-league football where he saw out his football career.

It was never meant to be a thread about religion tbh mate, as history tells us that religion threads on this board nearly always go pear shaped.
It was meant as a tongue in cheek suggestion that Jihadi John may be a ranger, it now looks like morphing into something else though. It doesn't bother me , I just hope it doesn't give the Mods a headache<ok>
