Not sure why, given the number of centre forwards already on the books, but we were (allegedly) chasing Chris Wood of Leicester for some time. Anyway, he's joined Ipswich on loan.

A whole host of others are getting on this bandwagon (for instance Liam Moore to Watford). Why are we sitting back and watching??

No .. but an experienced midfielder wouldn't go amiss.

Probably not, which is why I said in the original post that couldn't understand why we were linked to Wood in the first place.

All that aside, would you not agree that we have deficiences elsewhere that could benefit from a loan player?

I'd love to get Shay Given in on loan for the rest of the season. As good as Bettinelli has been I must agree with rosc that he lacks positional sense and a command of his area. Somebody like Given in goal would help steady that defence. I agree that an experienced midfielder might help but it has to be the right type. Scott Parker is as experienced as they come but we've all been calling for him to be dropped recently. I wonder would someone like Bentaleb be available. I think I'd take quality over experience at this stage.

F I must agree, Given with his experience would steady the defence and no doubt
Marcus could learn a great deal.
