The point I made with my initial post was that every scouser seems to recall that incident as Nani over reacting when really, it was a horrific challenge. Had he stayed down and not moved would you be more sympathetic? either way the tackle was made, a potentially career ending tackle at that, and nani is lucky not to have been more seriously injured. As far Nani, I've already agreed he needs to cut it out. However nearly all footballers make the most out of challenges and Konchesky had his arm up in his face. I could bring up the video of torres clipping his own heels for spain then staying on the floor motionless until the ref had sent of the completely innocent defender, but then it'd just go back and forth as it always does, which is boring. Foredeckdave always rides in whenever I post, he's obsessed. Sorry you got dragged into it.
I was at the match and even though it was miles away from me I knew it was a cruncher and was epecting a red. As for if I'd have had more sympathy if he'd not acted like a tart then yes obviously I would however as he's the archetypal "Boy/Ladyboy who crys wolf" then probably not a lot more. The point is that I'd have had a modicum of respect for him if he'd actually got up and tried to twat him for the challenge like a real man would. Oh and I have absolutely no problem in admitting Torres is a bit of a pansy too
Moot You keep admitting that Nani is a girl and we keep admitting that Carra's tackle was an X-rater, so where's the argument? Everybody trying to outdo everybody else in the insult stakes is pointless. Jamie should've been sent off the pitch and Nani should've been laughed off it.
I know, like I say, I didn't come into the thread for an argument, just to make the point that nani's antics shouldn't over shadow the tackle. I remember 606 at the time was all about how nani was faking being hurt, despite the actual tackle and the gash in his shin. But yeah it's been done to death, i agree. Problem with this forum is that any opposing opinion is jumped on by multiple posters, and you find yourself dragged further from the point as each of them dissect what would, in a face-to-face conversation, be a passing comment or joke. It's not limited to just this forum, it's just that football forums in general have a lot more zeal and hard-headedness than most others.
We all know Carra should have been sent off...but so should have Rafael...so it evens itself out that neither were sent off.
Rafael's was never a sending off. The 'challenge' which led to it was more of a sending off, when Maxi ( I think it was him anyway ) jumped up and ran his studs down Rafaels thigh.
He had both feet in the air - ergo a straight red. So anyway, who's going to call Martin Skrtel and tell him he's a pansy?
I nominate Eric to call around and tell him personally. After dark. Because Martin Skrtel is Nosferatu.
Again Eric you lot said Cole was against arsenal, and that was a block, rafael tried to go through lucas two footed off the ground, that cannot be interpreted as a yellow by any use of the rules, the ref gave two yellows instead of two reds. Carra caused some skin and flesh damage,, if it was such an injury that was career threatening as some idiot above said? some poeple are just well so blinded they cant see the truth, nani wouldnt have got up, it wouldnt have come down to choice, the outcome was a gash, not a broken leg. Such a tackle meant Nani would indeed not get fkn up, but as soon as he saw the ref pull out the yellow card he jumped off the ground, That is not what you do when you think you have a serious injury, when you think you have a seriuos injury you tend not to move at all!! and that is the fkn truth, noone flkn runs about if they think they have serious damage to their leg, get real losers, nani has no heart and threw a fit when the ref pulled out a yellow, Rafael not a red, omFG.
The injury wasn't career threatening but the tackle was. Surely you can't disagree there ? Your using the fact that he wasn't seriously injured to justify the tackle. I'm not defending Nani ?? Your just trying to deflect from a horrific takle to Nani's reaction. You didn't answer the part about Maxi racking his studs down Rafaels thigh first ? That was the first impediment.
