and yaya... we must never forget the ego in midfield... we of all people should know this.

we need to exploit every gap he leaves and if being in mourinho mode we need to tag him early on so he knows he is in a game.. a quick tap on the ankle quietens him right down every time.

Aguero is a worldie, yaya is a worldie.. silva is a top top player not quite world class but close.

Those three separate city form 6th place really cos nasri, milner and the like are players teams can cope with.

All things being equal, I agree. Unfortunately, more than half of the outfield players will be cream crackered. A win would slam a stake in the ground and make our rivals quiver! Can't see it though.

Oh, and in this game, it's Silva I fear as much as Aguero. Oh and Yaya versus Allen <yikes>

will they really though... skertl for instance... really?

Can would be my concern if played RCB where he should be cos he is needed

Mingolet, skertl, sahko should be fine. Markovic at RWB should be fine. Henderosn should be perfect. Coutinho should be rested by i dunno if perfect.... lallan should be fine

really its allen, can and sturridge/sterling i'd be looking at for tiredness and i'd expect us to either start with sturridge and sub on sterling or vice versa

I would be looking at allen V yaya in CM and can v aguero as aguero likes that channel.

In the end... we will see.

they had to play barca but had 2 days more rest.

There is no reason why we can't get something out of this game. Ok we are not favourites but we are at home and City tend not to respond well to pressure. I have said a draw but a win is not beyond us.

It will depend on how Can Sakho and Skirtl cope with Aguero and Dzeko.

The CB's are the least affected for sure but still, 2 days rest between 120m of football and a game with City is not ideal in any position. Playing on Can's right will likely be Markovic so it is there, in that channel, that I see Aguero and Silva playing havoc with yaya stampeding into the middle. Really hope we have the legs to run at them through the middle though, they look suspect this year in the centre of defence ,ok>

I've predicted a draw for the first time this season. This means we have a chance of winning.

When Yaya is good he is brilliant but quite often he's useless and Lucas and Allen have done him once before. I'm confident of a win.

Lucas is injured and Allen is tired. I hope you're right though. Even a point is a bonus for me as long as we beat Burnley on Wednesday. It's all about the bigger picture from here on in <ok>

Yeah I know, I was just making the point that Yaya aint all that.

I'm going to pin my badge on adrenelin and intensity winning this one for us, it's the game after it that the legs will be really tired which I think is Burnley on Wednesday.

Yup, Burnley....and that's been my concern from the outset. Dropping points to City is acceptable, especially after a grueling EL trip. Dropping points to Burnley would leave us very little wriggle room on the run in. A win against City does, of course, change everything......Wish I could share your optimism!! <ok>

1st goal will be a massive one
It could well drain liverpool if it goes to City but Rodgers knows full well how to play against City,we don't enjoy the pressing and intensity that has been the liverpool make up for a couple of years and explains why weve not deserved to beat Liverpool for quite a while, including last years match at the Etihad when mignolet threw one in.
Signs were there against stoke and Newcastle though that we are ready to go on a run and it could be just the wrong game at the wrong time for liverpool.
I think City will nick it

Whenever we've gone a goal down in the FA Cup we've had nice patient comebacks to win, but that's against teams we know we are better than. Against City it would be difficult to have the same mental strength from such a young team.

If City are allowed to play their normal game they will win. Simple. Their attack is more effective than ours and their defence more solid. The 120 mins of Europa wouldn't have helped.

We need to disrupt their game. Press hard and play at a very high tempo.
