    Thanks for the update.

I thought the BBC article was embarrassing.

It was a very sober meeting. Plenty of very long-standing ST holders spoke of their disconnection with the current ownership. There was an overwhelming vote to try to open a dialogue with Roland/Katrien, without any optimism about achieving success. My own vote was against this, having watched Katrien's aggressive approach towards fans who attempt this, discounting the charm offensive on a 15-year-old victim.
I have to say that my expectation is that those who are opposed to the trust will have to swallow their pride, because I think it will emerge as a unifying voice of the fans' feelings, in time. Those who want to fight for the future of Charlton will need some focal point, and there is no other. The last section of the meeting was about what do we do now? One VIP member suggested opening a dialogue with Richard Murray, who has expressed sympathy with the fans' concerns. Also strengthening links with fellow-sufferers at other Network clubs. Nobody, in short, has one big idea, because there isn't one, and it's going to be a long haul to get bour Charlton back.

A fair summary and it was good that it wasn't hijacked by the ultras demanding season ticket boycotts and walk-outs and other pie-in-the-sky militant action from a fan base that basically just wants to watch some decent football and not have to fret about what happens in the boardroom.

Can't see the meeting achieving much, though. As ForestHillBilly says, there is no big idea beyond seeking dialogue, which we had after a fashion the previous night at the VIP meeting. Richard Murray's involvement isn't going to achieve anything. We were told when Duchataslet took over that he was being retained on the boad as the point of communication with the supporters and it hasn't happened.

I think most are now more concerned about getting three points at Wigan tomorrow, which could see us go into the weekend in 12th place.

We might need to recruit this guy. He has a good history of public speaking, and slamming it to the authority.

Indeed. The only good bit was the reference to "popular" manager Chris Powell, as I am sure you will agree.

Not sure its such a bad idea DP

Have you read the little bit below from the interview?, all about Roland and his ideas, it might just cement what a lot of us feel about RD and maybe the pro RD mob, will see from what Powell has to say his not the best thing since sliced bread.

SO the draw for the non regulars will be the interview with Powell, once they start reading then hey presto all is out

I am sorry but like a McDonald's hamburger, it's all bollocks.

Is the trust running a fanzine on your money??? Are you paying twice for an interview?
What political motivation is there for an interview to be published on Saturday?
Why are the trust not accountable to the fans?
    Whose idea was it?
    What's the ****ing point?
Drawing an ally with Chris Powell on the eve of a match shows disloyalty to the team

I am all for honesty and if what Powell says is true it is not how a Football Club should be run. But I believe the Trust want to get involved in dialogue with Katrien and Roland, how is undermining them going to help? It is going to push them further into their bunker.

Who cares as long as SCP does a tunnel jump at the end of the match?

You cant beat a good tunnel jump. You can hear the zips on the coudroy trousers in the West Stand collectively go south when CP used to do it:

Either that or he can celebrate a Charlton victory, so there's no excuse for him not to do a tunnel jump.

No need to buy the CAST off report. The Evening Standard have this as an exclusive and probably it says the same thing.

Wash your mouth out. The double cheeseburgers are something to be marveled at.

But agree with the rest of the post.

The SLP are running the same story, so hardly an exclusive for CAST. Powell has been a busy boy.
