Spurs exist so that we can celebrate St Totteringham's Day every year <ok>

I understand all reason may be lost on you, but try to comprehend this.

You were one of the strongest sides left in the Europa and were one of the favourites to win the trophy. The Monaco game was an utter disgrace, but the fact remains that most other sides left would have loved to draw us as we are/were one of the weakest sides in the competition, so there was no expectation on us to win the CL even if we did progress past the last 16.

The Europa was also your best shot of qualifying for the Champions League and don't try and tell me your fans didn't have hopes of qualifying for it because after beating us, you lot were confident you'd do it. We have a much stronger chance at qualifying again through our domestic league.

As for what the point is about us being in the competition - money. Financial gain. Helps us to attract better calibre players to the club and pay competitive wages.

The uefa cup and the cup winners cup used to be great competitions...before uefa messed them up.
Now teams play make shift teams in them as the financial rewards for winning them are so poor. Maybe you're right about west ham but that dont change my question about whats the point of arsenal being inthe CL and being worse now than 2 years ago after spending approx £140m in between.
Something is very wrong ... you paid off your stadium, openned the transfer kitty, uped your wages and seem to have gone backwards.

But to be honest piskie debating with you is kind of pointless as you never engage in a proper chat.
My point was valid about how can a make shift spurs side losing tonight make you feel better about your team being so comfortably beaten last night by a team missing 5 first teamers?
I get the haha spurs are out bit...but surely, after you mocking us for wasting £110m you must be concerned at the state of your team after spending £95m on transfers this season.

All reason is not lost on me.
The strongest teams in the europa league were and are those who came out of the CL.
We aint gonna qualify for CL and judging by our team selection today the cup final took precedent.
Finally in my post I asked what is the point cos you get the money, have spent it o transfers yet are not getting better...it was a aquestion I put to piskie....how does a team he considers to be **** losing make him feel better about arsenal spending all that money on top quality players being worse?
I understand laughing at us...but how can our team going out tonight make any gooner feel better about being comfortably beaten by a team missing 5 starters. If you had lost to barca or real I would understand ... but to a very weak monaco team missing so many players? A team who only scored 4 goals in 6 group games but scored 3 against you last night...I dont get it but hey ho.
I will leave you in peace

Really? So you think Besiktas, Anderlecht, Ajax, Napoli and Roma are all stronger than you? Don't give me that bollocks. The latter two you may have a case, but there isn't a massive disparity in quality and you know as well as I do that you had a decent shout of winning this competition - more so than us winning the Champions League - so don't try and deflect attention away from your own side's shortcomings.

As for us spending more money on top players and being worse, I don't think there is a single Arsenal fan out there who will disagree with you, we have not had a good season by any stretch of the imagination and last night was shameful. I don't understand your point.

You going out to Monaco is a disaster for you...Every one thought youd win...no one expected that....your full team piskie losing to them, at home...missing 5 players.

i am gutted we are out of europe... i cant afford most prem games so me and my kids wont see anymore matches after next wed v swansea.
i dont view any trophy as mickey mouse...but you being **** v Monaco dont make me feel better about us being **** tonight...but like i said you seem never to want to seriously chat.
anyway ... work tomorrow so i am off

Basiktas deserved to beat us at the lane and did beat us at their place...so yes they are better as are liverpool who did the double over us this season.
I aint hiding my teams diffencies...I am very disappointed that we didnt play a stronger team in both legs of this tie. Only 1 english team has won this competition and that was chelsea who drop down from the CL...most years one of those teams win it.
Not sure what point you dont get about tge transfers

According to you we spent £95m and are worse than last season - well I looked at the PL Table and it states that we are in 3rd place, which is better than last season, so your statement is wrong.
Spurs on the other hand have spent £110m and are in 7th place which is lower than last season, so they are the team that has wasted their money.
i will agree that we are having a poor season performance wise but we are still better than Spuds !

Opps...I meant if you go out it will be a disaster for you...apologies, was posting way too late for my posts to make sense last night.

When it was 2 nil I thought you were in with a chance...and at 2-1 thought you'd put yourself in a good position but that 3rd goal might prove to be the killer...its a big ask to go there and win 3 nil or 4-2. I dont follow overseas football but I read that they have conceded the fewest goal in the CL this season.
    Any way work beckons

We spent 110m In 2013/14...and obviously it werent well spent. We had to replace our best and only world class player. This season we have spent 20m and are a better team than last season.
If you include your spending since 2013/14 then you have spent approx 140m and imho you are a worse team than 2 years ago and from a year ago.
You beat us 3 times last season byt not once this season. You were excellent v man city away but your other good performance s have been v struggling clubs.
As for 3rd place...you are only 4 pts ahead of us in 7th with only a third of the season left...that was not the case last season...so far, this season, I think it is a fair statement to say you are a worse team. Especially considering you have some top players.

Any how ... have a good friday...would love to stay and chat instead of work but need the money!

My policy when watching Bayern Bundesliga matches is watch until Bayern score. As soon as they get the first goal its game over, no point in watching anymore

For anyone still harbouring fond thoughts of Song I suggest you watch the first 60 minutes of West Ham vs Palace. He's been absolutely horrific. Lazy, clumsy and terrible passes. He literally couldn't look less bothered, maybe he's fallen out of love with West Ham.

West Brom beating Southampton, hopefully it stays that way, and if we can win tomorrow, puts some space between us and them. That should be enough of an incentive to our players tomorrow, we can continue solidifying our top 4 spot.
