I was answering a post regarding the fact that Bale nearly left for **** all and that Spurs got lucky that they hit the jackpot with him - none of which has anything to do with our utter ****e performance last night

 

I suppose the point is that it wasn't just a story that I'd invented to suit my 'narrative', but a fact that he almost left. The point I was making that it wasn't down to Levy's brilliance, he was prepared to let him go but Bale chose to stay and fight for his place. Levy then lucked out when Bale turned into one of the world's best players.

 

To be fair, if Harry said it isn't true that's the end of it. It would be completely out of character for him to lie.
