I don't know why everyone is saying play a weakened side for the Europa league game tomorrow like it means nothing, I believe this is are best chance of getting into the champions league next season. We can give are players 2 weeks off and they still might lose the final, we already messed up the west ham game by resting\rotating players. We need to play are strongest team tomorrow, get through and then the players will be pumped for the final.
Totally agree. It's a shame in a way because I'd love to see Soldado get another start tomorrow, he's looked quite good in the last couple of games but we really should be sending out the same side for both games, as you say. Playing 2 big games in quick succession might not be ideal but if we can go into the final having won the first big game of the week it can't do us any harm surely.
Well, this is where Pochettino really earns his money. And the difference between clubs like Spurs and Soton (where has our resident bitter got to lately ?? ) . To deal with the business end of UEFA tournaments in conjunction with the business end of the PL is something Spurs MUST LEARN TO DO. Management of the squad, the tactics of the manager etc, have all been found wanting since we got back into UEFA land and consistently finish in the top 6 of the PL. If you want a benchmark, then use the Goons. Get into the KO stages of the CL, exit with the filthy lucre, but FINISH in the PL top 4. ANYTHING rather than one season of 2010-11 and then years before the next one.
Lloris; Chiriches, Fazio, Vertonghen, Davies; Bentaleb, Stambouli; Chadli, Eriksen, Lamela; Soldado. Subs: Vorm, Rose, Walker, Mason, Paulinho, Townsend, Kane. Rotation in full effect, I guess. Hope it'll be enough. Tough task.
Half the first team again. Not what I would do. On the other hand, maybe that’s a point in its favor. I’m glad Chiriches, Stambouli and Soldado get starts, in any case. They’ve mostly been playing well. Davies didn’t deserve to get lost in the wilderness either. Who scored stats are amusing. They’ve got Fazio as the 23rd best player in the PL, I think. De Gea is below 200, and Lloris isn’t much better. Fazio is a good defender, just not with a high line. Well, hopefully Kane can manage some divine intervention. It wouldn’t be the first pleasant surprise from him this year. COYS!
Kaboul, Capoue and Adebayor didn't even travel apparently. Can't see them featuring again at that rate.
Anyone got any live links? My usual source of footy streaming has gone belly up! EDIT: Don't worry guys, I'm sorted now. It's back up!
http://wiziwig.ru/soccer/watch-897936-ac-fiorentina-vs-tottenham-hotspur Only one I've found. Not great quality.
http://www.livefootballol.com/channel/arenavision-8-sopcast.html Also this Sopcast one is working and is good quality. What you got, Flaspur?
Watching it on Setanta Ireland. I use a service that I've been a member of for some time now. Bit of a "club" and I'd be reprimanded if I shared.
This is a game that Eric 'The Show Pony' Lamela really needs to step up and make a difference. Playing against familiar opposition from a league he knows well. No excuses but to perform to his potential today.
