  1. They're welcome to piss about with most things but not anything related to disasters and respect tributes. The flames are a no go. Just look at how much **** Warrior got for simply moving the flames to the back of the neck!!!

Well I've said there should be things off limits to sponsors/partners but what would you say makes a potential partner off limits - not counting the obvious, risky ones?

People can also be hyper sensitive over stuff like that though. It's not as if anyone set out to offend with the tacky DD badge, the 'flames' have nothing to do with a Dunkin Donuts tacky promo badge that's merely in the same shape as the Liverpool one to show the correlation. Anyone getting out their pram in terms of that somehow relating to the Hillsborough memorial, needs to give their head a ****ing wobble imo.

ffs Tobes stop trivialising how people should feel about Hillsborough related stories, you've got your view as you've stated and fair enough but there's no need to slag off those that feel strongly about such a mistake being made by the club.

  5. True but as I've said, you'd expect them to check with the club first or investigate and potential meanings.

I didn't 'slag off' anyone? and your club never made a mistake either.

Not sure I agree, as what they've produced doesn't even have your club name on it, it's merely in the same shape as your club badge.

I think he meant mistake as in choosing DD as a sponsor in the first place!

Tobes, saying people "need to give their head a wobble" if they're offended is a sweeping statement and slagging people off, I've got reason to be offended if I it offends me( not that I am over this)but I ain't telling you why, but some on here know why, you weren't to know that but that's why making sweeping statements ain't the correct thing to do, in my humble opinion of course.

    Really it depends

It seems this brand went further than simple billboards and such. I mean really such deal make little sense unless they company can use us in more targeted ways at local locations. I don't think an image of lfC sells doughnuts in the USA does it

    What's off limits?

Well things that are sold to someone else so our kit is offlimits

Is a one off draping of the kop in dunking my doughnuts dress going to go down well... God no but you never know

Corporate event? Send players on a advert for them? Who knows it must be to the level they paid for.

By mistake I mean the club as a partner should have the final say on copyrighted material and should have stipulated that when the deal was signed.

My comment was to Page about naming the stand. Agree about not messing around with anything related to all of that,

Even if DD didn't check with the club you'd think that someone would've Googled the LFC crest in the process of designing their version and read about it.

If they didn't, it would have taken 2 minutes to check things out online and would have told them they probably shouldn't touch the idea because of the backlash they'd get. Or as has been pointed out, they could actually have run it by the club first.

The way that article is trying to cringe at us specifically is disgraceful. Really don't like that. This is football nowadays. If you want to stay at the top you've got to have these partnerships and endorsements. The guy who wrote it must live in the feckin stone age, he's clearly brain dead.

Anyway, DD are a bunch of knobs painted like dollars gobblers, hyper capitalist blubber pedlars, and I'd never entertain consuming any of their additive and chemical riddled sewage. It also sickens me that they're associated with sport. We should be encouraging healthy choices through sport not glazed and drizzled deep fried dough.

All I'll say is, no such thing as bad publicity.

DD might have it a sour note with Liverpool & some Everton fans but the rest of the population probably aren't that fussed about it. But it has put their name in the papers..

  17. Fair enough. I probably agree then, I don't give a **** about what the stadium is officially called, get the sponsorship money in and we'll call it Anfield anyway :)

Let's wait till we're 3-1 down to bring on a midfielder, Brendan.
