Its not the French thing that he was originally offended by though jb, he was outraged that RHC at his age had the temerity to refer to Arsenal as L'Arse, however a quick Google search of the offending abbreviation shows that plenty of others use it including Google itself due to the first search result being Arsenal's own official website.

How dare Google™ and RHC and others use L'Arse when referring to Arsenal.
