Like you losers this year? We're going to get third just to piss you off more, and hopefully you it's you losers who fail to make top 4 for the second year in a row.
You best hope you don't drop out of top 4 again, as your big sponsorship contracts have clauses saying you won't get paid so and so without European football, so you will lose both sponsorship money and the money you'd usually make from Europe. We've also seen already this year how revenue at your club has fallen. you'll be the next Leeds United.
It will be a big blow no doubt but the club will survive. The penalty clauses whilst significant are not that high to hugely affect the club . The consequences will be mainly around the manager and the squad. I can't see the global support being significantly affected either. To say we are doing a Leeds United is a bit OTT. We have spent well within our means
Erm that's what I mean, all this big spending is gonna bite them on the ass cuz they ain't gonna be making that money to afford it, just like Leeds.
As much as we would all love Manchester United to join Leeds in the Championship or even lower, I cannot see it happening!!
In hindsight it might have been better for Arsenal to have drawn one of the fancied teams as that may have focused minds a bit more.
A 0% record against 'better' teams might throw wet blanket over your theory. Last 16 is probably about right anyway. We are one of the 16 best teams in Europe. But not one of the best 8. Sounds about right when you watch us play and see the games we win and lose,
Am I right in saying that unless we finish in the final 4 this year (in the Chumps League) we no longer qualify as one of the "top" sides? Which, incidentally, is no less than we deserve. Frankly I'm surprised we were still ranked there this time around. Also, why are United being discussed in an Arsenal, Monaco thread? Who gives a f*ck about United?!
That is correct which is why it is strange people bemoaning the lack of 'world class' players in your squad. The tenth best club should have one at most given a world squad of say 23 to play in a tournament.
I turned the telly off after 25 minutes last night because I could see the same old pattern emerging. The foremost problem as I see it is Mert & Kos. Come the big game they appear to be terrified of giving the ball away and start to pass sideways, absolutely **** scared of making a forward pass any longer than 7 or 8 yards.. These two players alone were responsible for our lack of attack. Forget about defensive errors - these muppets keep the attack minded players in our team on a short leash. I don't know if it is a Steve Bould problem, but Wenger's frustration at the lack of forward momentum seems to clear him of blame imo. Of course there are other problems with our team and some of them are due to the manager, but I am convinced our biggest fault is the pair of bottlers in the middle of our defence. #mope
Really OF? Really really? How about the two FBs camped in the opposition half all game? How about us playing with ALL the forwards and nobody with an ounce of defensive know how (bar Coquelin who was lucky to stay on the pitch). How about the midfield and attack repeatedly losing the ball by over elaborating or through greed? When you get that level of sh*tf*ckery all over the pitch it seems incredibly harsh to put all the blame on the two CBs. ...they were sh*te too mind but it was very much a group effort imo. We seem to have reverted to a team of talented(ish) individuals again which is heartbreaking. It looked for a while like we might be creating an actual cohesive team but that's gone down the p*sser
