According to their version of Sky Sports. They have us as Hull City Tigers on the league table.

Hardly a surprise - it must be the only global product where the owner has caused utter confusion by calling the product by different names

Despite that alleged confusion, everyone still seems to know exactly who we are.

The sky hasn't fallen in yet either Chicken Licken, has it?

They also put the FC at the front of club names for some reason...

    01.03
FC Liverpool - Manchester City, 27. Spieltag
    01.03
FC Arsenal - FC Everton, 27. Spieltag
    04.03
Newcastle United - Manchester United, 28. Spieltag

Isn't that syntax just part of the German Language?

It's just inaccurate. Everton FC are Everton FC, not FC Everton, it's the name of a club, it's not open to interpretation.

It's not like we do that with Milan.

    **** I did it again.....

I think almost every time I've seen them referenced in the UK Olympique Lyonnais are called Lyon. Isnt that the same?

AC Milan call themselves AC Milan, that's probably why we also call them that.

No, that's an abbreviation, if we called them Lyonnais Olympique, that would be the same.

Yes but we're the only ones with the nickname appended as part of the name. Leicester are just down as Leicester City.

It's not an abbreviation, an abbreviation is changing Manchester United to Man Utd. This is interpreting the name so it can easily be identified with the city.

But even if you dont accept that I've seen loads of English reports refer to Barcelona FC, which is the same as what you say.

FC is an abbreviated suffix which has been moved in this instance to make grammatical sense in their language.

Using anything other than Everton Football Club in full is an interpretation of the actual name.

We're going OT here but that has always bothered me - why do we call it Germany not Deutschland, Spain not Espana and with cities Fiorenzi, Munchen etc, etc (yes I know there's millions). I know they do it back to us as well, it just seems really odd. Why go to the trouble of changing it? If there's an actual language issue then I could accept it but it's not like we're incapable of pronouncing Deutschland. Rome is the worst - we can easily say Roma.
