25,000 tks sold for Saturday. Should be quite an occasion. Let's give Powell a warm Charlton welcome at 2.59pm when he takes his place in the away dug-out - and then put his team to the sword.

I gather the 2015/16 season ticket offer is also to be launched on Saturday and a good performance should attract plenty of newcomers to take up the s/t seats vacated by Royston and any other fickle deserters!

I will be at home, I will not be getting up after 3 minutes and applauding.

25000? Looks like Katrien has already replaced those of you who now follow Chelsea on the tele. Outmanoeuvred by the network.

First they sack him, then they use him to sell tickets. Nice.

I think you have to ask yourself if CP will acknowledge the 3rd minute applause - where I'd be very surprised if he does. A pre match clap should be enough.

Besides, didn't we do the whole 3rd minute applause last season? Ironically against 'udders me thinks.

And didn't CP wear other shirt numbers too? <cheers>

If ANY of the 'football for a fiver' crowd fork out £2,000 for four season tickets like Nick does/did then I'd be absolutely gobsmacked!

There is an old addage in business
"You've spent lots of time casting your lines, making your catch and reeling them
in. ... The downfall for many companies is that they don't know how to keep
customers. ... Studies across a number of industries have revealed that the cost of
keeping an existing customer is around 10% of the cost of acquiring a new one."

'Football for a fiver' people will not and never have made good season ticket holders.

The loss of people like Nick and Dick SHOULD worry the Witch and Douche.... but I bet it doesn't as they seem to think that new 'Air Conditioning' in the Director's box will have fans streaming back for 2015-16 season tickets.

I am with Ken & Super 2.59 when he comes out a polite clap and that's it end of, he has moved on and so should we IMHO, he is the oppo manager, who wants 3 points off us.

I'm sure he will give a wave at the end to all sides of the Valley and i am sure he will get another clap.

I think as well as the normal one game a season for this football for a fiver we should do a couple of football for a tenner and bring a brat for a quid maybe. Only a couple of games they we know will otherwise be poorly attended.

Basic marketing. You get them in with a loss leader and if you give them a good product, then some - even though it is only a small per centage - will become repeat customers at full price. For example, young lads at their first game enjoy seeing Charlton win 3-0 and say to dad , 'can we come every week?' Dad then buys both junior and adult s/ts.

Of course, the marketing becomes much harder if the product is crap and we lose or it's a dull 0-0 draw!

The product at Charlton has been crap more often than not over the last few years, yet that has never put off the fans who are now reluctant to part with their hard earned cash to commit to another full season. And it's their cash, so it's always going to be their own personal decision how they spend it, so why throw insults around? The ground may be full on Saturday, but the following tuesday will tell a different story, or does anyone seriously expect to get 25,000 again?

I think you have missed the point and haven't quite grasped the purpose of promotions such as football for a fiver, billy. It's pretty basic: in any business new customers are constantly needed to refresh an ageing and eroding base. Football is no different. If we play well on Saturday CAFC will recruit a few new customers who will return. If the game is poor, that objective becomes much harder. So let's hope it is a good game and suceeds in adding a few newcomers to the 2015/16 season ticket numbers and a few more who will visit again next season on a game-by-game basis.

It's obvious even to my feeble brain what the purpose is, but do you really think it works? What is your prediction for the crowd size on tuesday? Don't be shy!

Got six coming on Saturday for a fiver. Because its a fiver, ask them to splash out £20+ each & they will laugh in my face. The question should be a fuller ground at cheaper prices or smaller crowds at larger prices. Be interesting to see what fantastic offer the owner unveils on Saturday, will give us an idea which way RD is going to jump.

Sold out. Well done to Katrien Meire and her marketing/sales team.

We now have a great opportunity to put on a goal-scoring exhibition of attacking football and see if we can translate some of the 10,000 non-regulars into s/t holders. Even if we can only convert one per cent of them, that's 100 new season tickets. Perhaps we could get Powell on the tannoy to do a sales pitch before kick-off? lol...

With five quality attacking players on the park in Watt, Vetokele, JBG, Bulot and Cousins, plus Eagles and Diarra to put the icing on the cake, I'll settle for 4-0 (Watt; Vetokele;Bulot;Eagles).

Nine points in two weeks and a sold-out, rocking Valley on Saturday will make the Woolwich whingers summit seem like ancient history (was it really only a week ago????)

Saturday is an opportunity to show Charlton at its best to a crowd of 25-26,000 people. Let's accentuate the positive and make a big noise for Chris Powell - and then an even mightier noise for Luzon and his team.

My understanding is that tomorrows programme will have the new season tickets prices etc in and dates

So pretty good timing to catch the non regulars, as long as we deliver on the pitch.

Yes, that is correct. And part of the 2015/16 offer is free tickets for all under 11s accompanied by a paying adult.

This should engourage a few fathers tomorrow to buy a full pirce adult season ticket, knowing that they will get free season tickets for the kids.

Well done Katiren and the marketing team on a brilliant initiative.
