Lost me after the first paragraph or few. I found your style of writing somewhat boring.

Cheap shots going at players who have suffered terrible injuries. Cheap dig at an English player who was good enough to play for Real Madrid too.

Fair enough, not here to spark reaction from the masses. Just occured to me that a lot has been made of the injuries this season, but i think the formation has had a lot more to do with poor form.

I'll admit the cheap shot on McManaman. However, I wouldn't say pointing out that Snodgrass and others have been injured are cheap shots, just stating facts.

IMHO you have omitted two key pieces of information that have seen such a sharp turnaround in our fortunes over the last three games.

    1. The appointment of Mike Phelan as Assistant Manager.
    2. Recognition of the fact, possibly by the above, that Curtis Davies has played terribly for the vast majority of this season, and the subsequent dropping of same, allowing, after the recent long term injury to James Chester, solidity returning to our three centre backs with the return to the fold of Alex Bruce and Paul McShane.

Totally agree with the Phelan comment, my point was more about what may have been had we stuck with 532 all season. Didn't want to name names for the players who haven't been up to scratch as there have been quite a few!

You're not actually contradicting Jenas, Hargreaves & McMananman's opinion which makes the exercise somewhat irrelevant. What you've done is merely to explain in your opinion why Hull City had underperformed until Man City. It's easy to make assumptions about TV pundits not doing their 'homework', however what you have to do is to highlight any errors that would challenge the premise. It's a strawman.

Sorry, Mr ProperPundit, but there are much better pundits on this forum - and funnier!

The point was that all three clearly had no idea how we had been playing in weeks before the Newcastle game, then having seen us actually play they suddenly all changed their mind, proving they hadn't done their homework. If they had they would have expected the Newcastle performance given the side we put out.

    Right..
It's hardly up to date though, Newcastle has been filed under 'best forgotten about'

Not that bad really. You won't find harsher critics than on here.
That's not to say that the criticisms aren't largely accurate and you could do worse than take note of some of the more relevant one's such as the timeliness of the piece and the need to better explain your opening criticism of the professional commentators.
However, the main reason for me commenting at all is because - if you're a young fella seriously thinking about writing or journalism - you deserve some positive feedback and if this was your first attempt, then as I said at the start of this thread, it's not a bad effort and from my personal perspective not boring. Have another go.
