A question: If the winner of the Europa league has already qualified (EDIT: For CL) through league position alone (very possible), does the other finalist win entry as per the FA cup and EL entry?

I agree on Arsenal, the 4th spot is defo between the 4 you've listed and you could make a case for any of them.

As the season ends approaches will the lack of pressure on Soton help them? As the real pressure is on United and you lot, could Spurs sneak up on the rails?

I wouldn't want to call it really, it'll be very interesting to watch though.

Honestly I can see a few draws in southamptons near future especial away as they seem to have just run out of key form

Spurs are hard to call. The bookies are heavily weighting europa participation against sides. But... We will see. They drew after europa but it was West Ham and they fought back and scored late suggesting tiredness was not there... I think they will be close but not quite there

I just feel strongly that utd away form will count against them and it will come down to one or two games like palace and everton. They've done ok by not losing many for sure but we will see

This weekend imo is a free game for them as we can't expect to do city but we will see. If they don't capitalise then they will have messed up

There's no less pressure on Spurs for a top 4 finish is there? For me, it's going to come down to squad usage/form, fitness/injuries and a bit of luck. I'm just glad that we're in the mix as top 4 looked like a pipe dream a couple of months back!

Utd v Sunderland at old Trafford is one I would bet on utd in

Sunderland are going to go for 0-0 so all utd need is one and the floodgates open... If utd don't win I'll be shocked

I fully expect gap to be back up to 5 by end of weekend but know utd have to play city too....

Are they going to get the axe out if Liverpool, Tottenham or Everton wins the Europa cap?
I understand the winner is going to be in Champion League next season. If the winner fails
to be in the top four of EPL?. Sorry if I am wrong.!.

Are you suggesting that if one of these 3 win the EL but finish outside of the top 4, then the fourth place spot would have to give up their slot?

This would be hilarious if Utd came fourth and we won it. Less funny if we were fourth and Everton won it (obvious exception accounted for). Hopefully, it's mean a 5th spot for English teams <ok>

    No.

There'd be 5 English teams in it, if that scenario happened.

We have an extremely tough game tomorrow to even worry about this yet. However, get to the last 8 in this competition and we have to start to take it very seriously, surely?

It'd have been less embarrassing all round if you'd have fallen at that hurdle this season <ok>

Not if we win the Europa plus next year's Super Cup

(We'd also qualify for next year's CL but that would be redundant after we get 3rd place)

Which was why I said 'We have an extremely tough game tomorrow to even worry about this yet'.........clearly, I would not take getting to the last 8 for granted, but should we do it, my attitude towards the competition changes. Right now, if we got knocked out tomorrow, I wouldn't be too disappointed.

I have looked but they have quality to get goals so while i think they have hard ones (not newcastle by the look of it) away and 3 top 4 competitors at home i think they will get at least 6 wins = 18 points plus draws so... i recko we need 25/26 points as well
