You started off well, veered slightly to the obscure in the middle and ended in farce. Typical Not606 post. :emoticon-0100-smile

In which case, all the advantages you claim for a winter world cup (No Christmas shopping etc) would only apply one year in four, with no football to brighten the winter darkness for the other 3 months. Think it through!

Yeah, I'm talking about watching football on tv in winter for the world cup and not having to go and physically watch when freezing. With summer football we would never have to endure physically watching in the dark at 4pm and freezing our tits off.

Think of the marketing opportunities having Christmas before the start of a new season would bring.

Personally I love the floodlit football, which usually comes with the colder weather, oh and I ****ing detest Sepp Blatter.

You'd still have floodlit football in October and March, it's not light until 9.45pm.

It's a shame we didn't play summer football when we had Geovanni. He'd have been great all season.

You said you love floodlit football and, with summer football, it would still happen in the UK. Ergo it's not a problem.

You might as well say "I like winter football, the teams wear socks".

How am I starting an argument?!? You're the one who took it to an abusive level. I'm merely pointing out that you would still have your love of floodlit football so it was a moot point.

Some people just dont like it when they're questioned.

I posted a while back about a move to 'summer' football and also completely overhauling the football calendar.

Where there's a will and all that.....

What has the FA following its own rules got to do with it?

How could we have summer football? We would be in competition with rugby league.

No football history is exactly why it should be there. Until last summer the best world cup of my lifetime was undoubtedly USA 94.

I don't see why UEFA doesn't just break off from FIFA. It hold all the big football nations, the big teams, the big competitions, the big money.

Fifa would soon come crawling back.

It's a great idea. Who needs Brazil and Argentina anyway?

    FIFA.

It can be their showpiece for every FIFA world cup.

    Brazil v Argentina.

Perhaps Tahiti will upset the odds and win it one year.

Indeed. After all they have only managed to win over a third of the World Cups between them.
