Good morning Leeds from Bristol City fan. You may not be aware but we now ground share with Bristol Rugby (Union) and their attendance's have increased by about 25% since the move at start of this season to 7,500 per match. City cannot increase gates at the moment because of a massive stadium rebuild. Both our teams are in with a very good chance of promotion. In Leeds you have two well supported clubs; United and Leeds Rugby League. So the question for you guys is. How many actively support both teams by buying season tickets for both or attending a significant (pay on the day) number of matches at both clubs?
Cidered, tall in the tackle, & thenhe game down south... & up north as well involves forwards who know they don't have to give the ball up every 6 tackles. Its a harder game than that girlie game played up north where they have to do more than run around and tackle. Comparing like with like, league forwards can't even cope with a scrummage. To their credit, league backs learn their trade, learn how to retain the ball, & then go south with the aim of playing in a real world cup
No point trying to teach pork. If you think stop start slap and clap really is better than the fast dynamic thirteen man code you are already beyond saving. Rugby union. Kick off, catch it, kick it out, throw it in, catch it, kick it out, repeat for 80 minutes.
Its about position on the field. Its called tactics. And unlike League, defending and attacking sides can genuinely compete for the ball all the time..... that & union can go phase after phase. Whereas league can only cope with 6 tackles before having to give the ball back,
When you say phase you mean move a yard, all the fat men lay down for a cuddle and the only thin bloke get the ball from under all the fatties and then he kicks it off the field. I would rather put acid in my eyes than watch anything than absolute top grade rah rah. Sadly the nearest great side is 8000 miles from here.
Very high quality union can be decent to watch ie. internationals but anything else I struggle to stay interested (and even then internationals my attention can still wonder a bit). Only league I watch is the state of origin here in aus, its only coz its so huge over here and atmosphere is insane but to me that's more about getting pissed while there is some form of sport on the tv in the pub. I like a lot of different sports, rugby I fail to see whats so good about it. So stop start its ridiculous.
