I was at that match, just a young whipper snapper back then.
12 years old & fit as a lop.

 

Yeh I was there remmember it well

 

Was a bit p***ed off at work saw this now the day seems much brighter

 

Honestly didn't,t remember how good a save Mony made from the deflection, honestly think it,s close to his ovule at Wembley

 

I was there behind the goal...What a day..

 

I first took a proper interest in football because I had a crush on Gary Rowell
38 years of (mainly) misery after.............................
That man has a lot to answer for

 

I have to say that he still looks well for his age mind..

 

So you had a crush on him too?

 

When he knocked that hattrick in I would have kissed him full on the lips if I had the chance marra...

 

That through ball from Kevin Arnott for the 3rd just reminds me of the type of player that the current team is so badly in need of.

 

Great thread that many of the younger lads won't appreciate the significance of.

I've had some great times with my sons & mates at derby matches, Wembley etc that have been unforgettable.

But this is my favourite match I've ever been to on my own ......... a Sunderland lad scoring a hat trick at Newcastle, doesn't get much better.

The Sunderland support that day was incredible, shame I was in the Mag section.
