Phil is forgetting that every other team in the World also play football in November....

  6. I suspect he may have been eluding to the winter break other countries get meaning their players are supposedly fresher.

I'd say the thing he missed is the many different nationalities that play in the PL.

I think it'll take a damn sight more than playing in November to give England a chance.

I doubt the clubs will release their players even if the FA go ahead with it.

If FIFA still exists in its present form in 2022 and UEFA is still affiliated to it clubs will have to release players for the tournament and that includes English clubs, best case scenario is for Blatter to be gone in time for his successor to compensate Qatar and take the tournament out of their hands.

Then either have another vote on those who were in the original list or draw up a new list based on countries with the infrastructure already in place to hold the tournament because of the time scale.

Other than that UEFA should threaten to leave Fifa and to consider playing the Euros every 2 years.<laugh>

Perhaps Qatar could be compensated by Blatter and the other corrupt ****s who took the bungs in the first place <ok>

Yeah, he'll probably be brown bread before his shady life in football becomes public.

Tbh this is a storm in a tea cup, we are again falling for Blatter games. We should just go ahead and get it sorted, its a doddle to sort but we are still outraged and sore from losing 2018 bid. We only need 7/8 weeks to send a well prepped team off (hypothetically speaking) and to play the tournament, hell our players will be well rested as IF we get there we wont last longer than three weeks.

Just cancel all the friendlies for all nations they would play over that season ( so 4 - i think), start season two weeks early(no massive drama) finish two weeks later again no massive drama, players will be no more tired than usual in world cup years, but if they are mistakes or walking football will add to end of season drama

The reason people are pissed off about this is nothing to do with the failed bid.

It's to do with the completely blatant bung taking that resulted in a desert being awarded the SUMMER WC, which was completely impractical despite their nonsense bid, and it's therefore had to be moved, which wil disrupt not only 1 season but the 2 either side. So the FIFA delegates nest feathering will disrupt the entire football calendar.

It's an utter disgrace that these bent ****ers have been allowed to get away with the most obvious bent result in the history of sport.

Like others have said in really surprised the other countries that were budding to host haven't done something like take FIFA to court over all this. Maybe just waiting to see when it's officially confirmed about the dates before doing anything but must be some legal issue with a bidding process for one thing then when one country wins, changing the whole competition rules <doh>

Blatter laughing at the premier league for objecting to a December final and Eckhart's laughable rant about clubs wanting compensation.

"Why should we apologise to the clubs? We have had an agreement with the clubs that they are part of the beneficiaries.

    "It was $40m (£25.8m) in 2010 and $70m (£45m) in 2014."

The two figures he mentioned are a spit in the ocean when compared to the money in the Fifa bank account, its obvious they're all on the take and paying off other football associations globally or their would be outrage from every club in every league in every association around the world at the way Fifa keep the vast majority of money earned through International football.
