Why? Just means we have 5 teams in the CL. I'd rather United missed out.

And if Arsenal missed out would be interesting to see how the reacted given they are such regulars. Interesting to see if any players kick up a fuss or if the manager moves on...

Don't think it would matter if arsenal missed out, they've had more attempts at winning it than any other English club and failed every time.
They're just cannon fodder for the better teams when it really matters and the competition is more of a cash cow to them than a realistic chance of silverware.

Now they'll probably win it just to prove me wrong.<laugh>

I think in general there are two ways of looking at it.

    1. If arsenal did miss out just how many players would be sold to balance books? really.... i mean the way the tv money is going.... 1? max?

    2. If they don;t get in who would desert the cause? Sanchez? Ozil?

Realistically if arsenal fail by getting 5th one year...... well there is not a reason par se to assume they'd not bounce back.

    HOWEVER.

context is again key.... for example if spurs just once take 4th we would all be saying... oh well they don't have the squad and arsenal will be back.

However what if anoher massively wealthy owner came along etc etc to spurs... whoever... or what if UTd are the team putting them out.

What if arsenal were the 5th best team and look no better than thr 5th best club... well then thats different isnt it.

Right now arsenal with a fit squad are clrealy top 4 so if they somehow managed to **** it up this season and utd and us took 4rd and 4th i would expect them to be competing with us next year.

Spurs have a 1/100 chance in Europe

Everton have no chance at all <ok>

LfC have 1/100 chance cos I for one don't rate rodgers over 2 legged games and think it's more about learning than us have a hope

It was a preference, not a prediction <doh>

You do realise this takes away the part time advantage Saints had right?

Can;t say I'm worried about that. Based on tonights display Liverpool are going nowhere without their referee bias <ok>
