I think as a club we would have the draw for him, I also remember reading he has some sort of affiliation with us (is a leeds fan or something, can't exactly remember). Plus Karanka went to Boro.

But I doubt Cellino would ever hire him and that'd be the problem so I do think your right. I do dream of us showing ambition when it comes to managers though.

Not a chance, this season I doubt that 72 points will be enough anyway when you look at the fact there is 6 teams in the play offs that are all bunched together and would expect to earn at least 20 points from their last 14 games which pushes the requirement up to 76 points. I would happily take a 12th finish with 60 points or more - should give us confidence for next season.

Not saying we will get play-offs or it is even possible, long way to catch up. However, if we were to win the next 3 games I reckon we'd be within 10 points of the play-offs. Norwich are in great form, Ipswich aren't and I reckon Watford are about to go on a bad run, they all play each other a fair bit in the remaining games as well. We aren't good enough to get the amount of points needed but a better team than us could do it. I do think the teams above will drop the points for lowish 70's to be enough.

As a club we may have the draw, but he's an intelligent man and he won't want his reputation tarnished because Cellino sacked him for a four-game winless run. He'll want guarantees that Cellino won't bow to.
Karanka did go to Boro, but I think it's a completely different scenario. As far as I'm aware, he has control over the transfers and the club/chairman doesn't have a reputation for sacking managers.

I would love us to bring in a coach like Clement, but Cellino's ego is too big for someone like him. Given the lack of real contenders, I wouldn't be surprised if he stuck with Redfearn (depending on how the end of the season goes).

That was my point. Clement is not too good to be coaching a club like Leeds United, that would look very good on his cv, especially if he got us promoted.

Cellino is the reason he wouldn't come. Its all a little frustrating to me to be honest. Cellino is more than willing to spend on bringing players in, just bring in a top quality manager and give him influence in signings...

Must admit it is an outside bet that we shall get to the playoffs, BUT a lot of the top 7/8 teams play each other over the remainder of the season, plus some of them have to play us, longshot but you never know, whats the odds for us to get promotion???

Touch of realism from an optimist here:

We are beatable. If we're beaten twice in a row, confidence might go out the door and we'll be lucky to scrape one or two wins in the remainder of the season.

I think this is far more likely than the playoffs.

The reality is that we've had a lucky run, and will be blowing hot & cold before long. However, the future does look bright, and I just cannot wait for next season to start.

Glad you posted that WJ my thoughts exactly, we are more likely to lose 3 on the trot than win another 3. We have been a tad lucky but at the same time some nice glimpses. We are starting to see who we need to keep and where we need to strengthen and the young players will certainly have gained some balls this year.

The team appears to have more resilience than it did, with them now fighting for 90mins. Defending set pieces still gives me the heeby jeebies though.

So what about the players who aren't getting first team starts? I think Antenucci deserves another go now he's been rested. Morison still isn't scoring, which is his number one job.

Beg to differ, Briz. Antenucci can't lead the line in a 4-5-1. Morison can, after a fashion. Antenucci is a Sheringham-like link man and can't be the battering ram that Morison is. Sad but true. I'm a fan of Antenucci, btw, so it pains me to say that Morison should be in there before him.

    mmmmm WJ,

    Let me get this right,

Antenucci can't lead the line in a 4-5-1. Morison can, after a fashion, but not score.

Antenucci is a Sheringham-like link man and can't be the battering ram that Morison is, but a battering ram that can't score

Sad but true. I'm a fan of Antenucci, btw, so it pains me to say that Morison should be in there before him, even though the battering ram can't score.

WJ, I'm lost, or have you been drinking to much out of my all caption winning Gold trophy?.....<cheers>

Do you reckon Morison, the wandering nomad, has no ram in his batter? or maybe no batter in his ram. Could it be he's taking a psychological battering as Redders rams it down our throats that he'll score eventually, he'll score eventually.

Do you think a couple of teams will batter our goal by ramming multiple goals into back of net before our very own battering ram scores one?

I'm battering my head for options but think I'm ramming to many ideas in there.....:emoticon-0105-wink:......<cheers>

I am not a Morison fan but watching him I was surprised at how many headers he actually won from his positioning and gaining a bit of space. His goal scoring is absolutely awful but he is quite an intelligent player.

A few times the midfield should have gambled on him winning the ball more and they should have made a few more runs. Cani looked on paper poor so I can only assume Redfearn hasn't been impressed with what he has seen on the training ground?

As we near safety Redfearn needs to sit down with Cellino and tell him that he intends to experiment with the team a little, then give some of the loanees a run out as we need to see if they are worth signing or not.

I'd give Cani a go once we're safe, just because he's here, but I'm not expecting much. A top striker in the Morison mould who can score goals must be our priority in the summer. That, a proper right back and a natural left winger, and I don't think we're looking too bad.

I agree Kiwi, I might even be tempted to drag Ajose back before the end of the season unless there is a clause that we can't and see how he does on the left of the 4 2 3 1

I'd give him another go, but I get the feeling he needs to be played through the middle to get the best out of him. Doesn't seem to have the pace of a Gradel or the skill of a Snodgrass out wide, and obviously up front we need a Morison type, so it doesn't look too good for him. I hope he proves me wrong though <ok>

True but i think like the old saying, dont change a winning team ! anderlucci will get his chance again
but i think he did need a rest as too much pressure was on him and he dried up abit, but i do like anderlucci
i cannot fault the present 1st team apart from wooton who looked abit out of depth against middlesbrough maybe he needs to get stronger, but i still would not change a winning team .
