Well **** off then, this goes far beyond righteousness. Its opposition to the propaganda mouthpiece of the NWO gaining a majority stake in british media interests. Dont car ewhat it takes I want News Corp gone. Iv been wary of it's real objectives before any of this broke. If this is what it takes for the wider public to reject the company then so be it
Who the **** buys the NOTW anyway? Loads do I know. But this is a benefit to society losing such pish.
Is it though? People will just buy the likes of the Sunday Mirror instead until the NoTW relaunches itself as the Sunday Sun and slowly but surely people will drift back to buying it like the celebrity-obsessed sheep that they are.
At least there seems to be enough people who recognise this for the simple management and rebranding stunt it is. The buck hasn't stopped yet
It's a fascinating, shocking gesture but ultimately totally empty. You're right - nothing whatsoever has changed. The new Sun On Sunday will take over, with the same staff, the same attitude, even the same magazine (staff on the NotW Fabulous magazine have been told its future is safe). And the hopeless dregs of society, who enjoy anonymously shocking people on internet forums, will continue to prove Murdoch right in his assessment of British society by putting their money directly into his pocket. Team Sky has won the sixth stage of the Tour de France. Team Evil has won the second stage of the bid to take full control of BSkyB. Cameron (who must be thanking his Christ that at least he's not Ed Miliband) probably asked for a big, magnanimous gesture to buy some public approval. Instead he got a big, empty gesture that doesn't help him at all. He won't get another.
No we're not. We may well all be tarnished by association with the dregs of British society but even those who post puerile shock threads on internet forums are just pale failed imitators of Murdoch.
There are certain issues I think should be treated seriously, yeah. This is a seminal moment in British societal responsibility. The last government utterly failed to make Britain a better place by using tax monies to bail out the banks and successfully kept the failed system in place. The current government has the opportunity now to eradicate the cancer at the heart of Britain and change things for the better, removing the power Murdoch has over the executive, the legislature, the judiciary and the police. If Cameron now helps Murdoch to maintain the status quo then this will be the moment that revolution was fermented.
Why do journalists assume that the rest of us give a flying **** about them? They walk out en masse and they think they've got the public right behind them in solidarity. They're totally out of touch with what real people think about their chosen "profession". An example is when that photographer got shot in Northern Ireland. Civilians were being run out of their homes, and what does the media think we care about? A happy snapper with a poorly leg.
No, you said that the NOTW phone-hackings helped get Andy Gray fired, and they didn't. Stop calling me thick when you keep ****ing stuff up
I'm ****ing spewing. The closure of an such a massive institute to British society should send shivers down the spines of everyone. The NOTW was the Sunday papers. All this sanctimonious bullshit being spouted by the self-righteous left wing on here and in general is enough to make me sick. Absolutely raging.
Don't worry. You can always bang your head off a wall and achieve the same numbing effect you get from reading NoTW
