FA been tweeting confirming Barnes will face no retrospective action for that shocker of a tackle on Matic. Utter disgrace, the FA do not help themselves at times like this, and referees need to be held more accountable for awful decisions like this. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31590728
"The FA confirm no further action in relation to Ashley Barnes as the incident was seen by the officials," So the officials saw it, but deemed it worthy of nothing? Unfuckingbelievable. This rule of 'if the officials saw it, take no further action' is possibly the most insanely stupid rule in football.
****ing too right. It was one of the worst tackles I've seen for quite a while. I thought Matic reacted calmly considering the circumstances. You know there would have been fists flying if that happened on a Sunday League pitch.
Agreed - the ref saw the worst tackle of the season and did ****-all about it cos' he didn't recognise it as such, ****er ref, bigger ****ers at the FA and what a sneaky, snide, chicken bastard Ashley Barnes is, had Matic got his leg planted he'd now be in a plaster cast.
The FA are utter utter ****wits. It was a disgraceful challenge. I thought they could apply retrospective punishment as long as the ref hadn't booked Barnes, which I don't think he did. They should be charged for lacking common sense.
As long as seen it, and mentioned it in his report, the FA are unable to take retrospective action. My take on it; if the ref saw it and thought it didn't warrant ANYTHING but a free-kick he shouldn't be allowed to ever referee again.
They are contradicting themselves though. They still found a way around banning Costa when it was seen by the ref and the 4th official.
The FA are stuck by their own rules If they tried to sneak round it the. A lawyer would shoot them down and they'd look daft. They need to change the rules. I can't blame them for this as they are stuck.
The most concerning thing, which nobody is picking up on, is the fact that the referee saw it and felt it was perfectly fine... How ****ing **** are the referees in this country if they can see a leg breaker of a challenge but deem it fine? Can't stand any referee, they're all just as bad as one another, all of them consistently making shocking errors in near enough every single game.
To say you can't stand any referee. There would be no games without them. It sounds like the thing young kids say. As for mistakes, we all make them. You aspire to be a sports journalist but make spelling, punctuation and grammar errors and admit not knowing or caring about some sporting matters mentioned on here. Should that mean people can't stand you?
