To be fair, though, did anyone really believe that Saints were ever going to finish top 5?

Yes, the Saints fans are almost as bad as the Spanners were, before their dream fell apart.

Liverpool have to be favourites for top 4 along with Arsenal at the moment.

I disagree can't believe the media band wagon. They still have to play Chelsea, Man City, Man United and Arsenal.

Out of those teams we only have Man City and Man United left. Liverpool have been scraping results, I honestly can't see them getting in the top 4 but I maybe wrong?

I think it will be Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal and Man United.

We seem to have a problem putting the poor teams to sleep.Arsenal seem to be able to do it.....with a hell of a lot of luck!

What are the F.A. saying here? Either Atkinson didn't see Barnes' over the top tackle on Matic, and the F.A. Are bottling it. Or, Atkinson did see it and thought the "tackle" was legit, in which case he's an incompetent idiot and should be removed from the Premiership list immediately.

And apparently he's our best referee. The mind boggles. Still, good to get rid of Matic (although I suspect the FA will overturn it now).

It's the latter. The ref saw it, but he didn't realise what had actually happened.

Another laughably Pool biased display of refereeing at St Mary`s yesterday, the Bin Dippers certainly do enjoy the majority of referees giving them the benefit of doubt, we see it time and time again, and is sickening to say the least.

I felt sorry for Saints, they were the better team but were cheated out of a probable victory by another Pool favouring referee.

I'm not sure the tackle justified Matic jumping to his feet, running at Barnes and pushing him forcibly with two hands.

What would be the grounds for appeal? I don't think provocation will work.

The F.A. Must know that Barnes should have been punished. It will be interesting to see how they treat Matic's case, in that light. Cue outrage from Maureen if it's upheld!.

For Saint’s second pen shout not to have been granted was especially outrageous. There is a knock on effect also, I think. Defenders feel they can do what they need to do to prevent good chances, and attackers tend to become frustrated.

The obvious tactics to play against Pochettino’s system is to sit back and hit on the counter in the hopes of catching our goal undefended. Sure enough, those tactics have worked against us more often than not. To be fair, we’re getting a little better against teams that adopt those tactics, I hope. If our players are energized enough, we can dominate play, as we did against Arsenal. But the West Ham game showed we’re still vulnerable.
