The only thing I cant understand is when the game is locked at a draw entering the last 10 minutes or so and with still a chance of snatching a win people decide to leave , they may think twice about doing it in future after Saturday.

Quick question for all complaining about people leaving....Do none of you leave your seat a couple of mins before half time to get a drink/food to beat the queues? or come out after half time a couple of mins late due to finishing drinks/food etc...???

pretty much the same thing imo and 100s of people do it but nobody ever mentions/complains about that! :)

Unless there is a good reason I've never understood it personally.

Do the same people go to the cinema and leave before the end of the film?

Can you really not see the difference ? The game is 1-1 and could either way in an important relegation battle and people leave , thats not support

Early leavers - their choice, their loss.
To miss out on the euphoria of a last minute winner is beyond comprehension in my book.

When i lived in Cambridge and it was a night game and the game was safe or gone past the point of no return. ... I Would leave a few minutes early as this could very easily save me an hour on the drive home ... Didn't happen to often though ... but what a worthwhile trip home this weekend nervous display but it was the result that counted.

Bloke next to me left with ten minutes to go. Oddly it added to the moment, I don't know what was better, the delight because of goal or the thought of him dipping out?

I've left games early on two occasions. Once to get to work on time and once to pick the car up from the garage before it shut for the weekend. On both occasions I've missed last minute winners!

Over the many threads on this subject, I do believe those things have been both mentioned and complained about.

Saw the scarf throwing eejut and admit to having a snigger about the twat once I'd calmed down after seeing the winner scored.

My brother-in-law religiously leaves on 87 minutes as he parks in a spot immediately outside of the East Stand exit gates, I wasn't with him for the game but I skyped him to ask if he missed it and he did :(

An old man and his son near us always leave around 87 minutes as the dad is infirm and can't manage the crush. They've missed a few last minute goals over the years but it's their choice and doesn't bother me at all.

There's nothing like a last minute winner in my book.

If individuals choose to miss out on that euphoria then that is up to them (but I cant understand it!)

It's mostly the retirees and people with young kids that leave early around us....don't fancy getting shoved down the stairs in the rush I expect.

I would think in such a tight game they would make an exception and stay just in case.

I'd be gutted forever if I'd missed Stuart Elliott's headed brace against the Drama's back a few seasons ago....best finish ever!

We always seem to have a larger proportion of people leaving early no matter what the state of the game is than other clubs. We also have a higher proportion who remain seated no matter what.

I usually go for a pint in Parkers after the game and the roads are gridlocked! I can't understand why people don't make post match part of the day? I walk out after the game get a pint and stand there looking at people stuck in traffic! And this can be a good half an hour traffic jam! If you've got somewhere to go then that's fine but especially if we've won then stay out and celebrate! <party>

I mention it all the time, most notably last season when those in Chav Corner would up and go for their half time pint 5 minutes before half time.

We are a Football Club. There is an unwritten contract between the supporters and players that says we're all in this together. If the players don't turn up they deserve to be bollocked by the manager. If "fans" up and leave early they deserve to be called "plastics" or "Non-fans" or whatever.

You mention what you call chav corner. BTW, a bit rich for someone who boasts his lad will fill people in to be referring to others as chavs. Anyway, what about all the supporters in other areas going for their half time pint 5 minutes before half time? Or is it OK in other areas?

But it's not even 5 minutes left. If they leave at 85 mins, which I assume you meant, more often than not that's 10% of the whole game time they're missing.
