Well mate, we're at your place at the weekend. What side do you expect LVG to put out? I know RVP is crocked so we just have to deal with the rest, lol. TBH, I'm expecting a twatting but we done you last season so you never know. It would be typical of us to play ****e v QPR, Bradford & WBA & get something at your place.
I think we should be going there looking to get something. Man U simply aren't that good this season, from what I've seen they're very lucky to have the amount of points they do given their performances this season. Falcao is ****e, Di Maria is played out of position, they have no decent holding midfielder, and their defense is shaky. I don't see why we can't look for at least a point here, personally.
Because its Sunderland mate, thats reason enough Disagree about the defensive midfielder though, think Blind is a very good player in that position Think they had found a bit form until the Swansea blip, hope we don't get the backlash Think if we played like we did against WBA then I could see us maybe sneaking a point
Do you know what, I'd love to rip this post to bits and disprove you but it's almost all spot on. We were top of the form table, by hook or by crook I'll never know but we got there playing some awful football. We aren't that good this season, we looked good last weekend for long periods but we lost, sods law. Falcao has been shocking in terms of goals, but I'll stick my house on it he'll score goals wherever he goes. If it was only him not scoring I'd be saying he's ****, but he's not, his movement is intelligent but we have nobody creating. Just a bunch of players knocking it side to side and Di Maria will lift a cross in every now and then. Fellaini and Young have been our two best players recently. We're crying out for Carrick, until he comes back he'll be missed badly and we'll struggle. Having said that, @Billy Cattermole I would be disappointed if we didn't win, because you also look void of creativity and a lethal touch. De Gea, Valencia, Smalling, Rojo, Shaw, Young, Fellaini, Herrera (must start), Angel, Rooney, Januzaj (wishful thinking on the basis that he plays well vs you lot). That's who I'd go for, Blind and Falcao dropped.
Spot on Terry - could you imagine what Scholes would've done with that in front of him!!! We should be looking for something at OT - we won there last season somehow - but I would be happy wih a point by any means necessary (sorry) Although, we'll be slated for parking the bus at OT rather than Tony Pulis having nothing said about him for doing it at ours! I'd take a bus parking 0-0 TBH!
you think you need to park buses at Old Trafford mate? You could turn up wearing ****ing roller blades and stop for a kip half way through the first half and when you woke up we'd still be passing it around the centre circle.
Love it!!! I am hoping my mate is going instead of his dad - mainly because every time he goes to OT you lot lose (his Dad's a season card holder and he often gets his ticket if his dad is away!)
****ing hell, he must have been a fair few times this season. I've been blaming Louis Van Gaal all this time.
Man United are having a strange season, with on the one hand almost everyone saying they are not playing particularly well. but on the other hand pushing hard for a Champions League spot.. If we get anything out of this game I will dancing a jig....
I remember being at Old trafford on a number of occassions but the few that stick out are the last day of 67/68 season, when a win would give them the title. They had Charlton,Best,Law,Crerand Stiles etc and we beat them 2-1 (Mulhall and Suggett,if I recall,Best replying for United). Then again in the 74/75 season in the old Div 2. We played really well that day but ended up losing 3-2.Have to say that Pearson was miles offside for the winner. Happy days and to be honest we have always gave a good account of ourselves at Old Trafford, hopefully continue this on Saturday. Haway the lads
1984 (I think) - 2-0 down in the firts half and looking likely to get hammered - Clive Walker Hat-trick (2 penalties) and we win 3-2 - Bryan Robson and Mark Hughes scored for them if I remember correctly. Think Hughes got sent off with Dave Swindlehurst fo fisticuffs where Hughes tried to play-act to get Swindlehurst sent off! Of course those were in the days where penalties against utd were easier to come by!! From our recent exploits and the hand-balls/fouls in the box we don;t get pens from, short of beheading or a defender catching and holding the ball for longer than the 10 second keeper rule, I don't think we'll get a penalty this weekend!!
I was in the Man United end with my Sunderland top on when we got that 5-0 drubbing..I took a load of verbal stick, but it was al; good humoured..
I think it be a close game and I do fancy us for a draw. Watch the long ball to big wig and we be fine.
Might have been Dave Hodgson!! I was only 9 - but it was mulleted!!! Both Hodgson or Swindlehurst and Hughes got sent off though!! 10 a side (It was nowt but a little tap on the face to each other!)
That 74/75 game was voted Game of the Season on MotD even though it was in Div2. Can't remember why it was on MotD though, given that it was Div2.
