I am sure many of you have seen this link before, but for those that havent it takes you to youtube and a great video posted showing all DG's 27 goals from last season .... It's done been done with 2 great songs and last 7mins 23 secs, it could almost bring a tear to the eye! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mLQ2_4xqH4
Great video ...we really will miss him! Meanwhille Carlisle are after some money it seems.. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/9124661.Carlisle_call_on_Watford_to_reveal_transfer_details/
I cannot believe we're going to mess Carlisle around. We should be professional in all our dealings. What goes around comes around, Carlisle are due a lump of cash and we should pay up promptly. There really is no need to mess around in these dealings. Who is running the day to day accounting operation?
To be honest, who says it is us playing them around! Maybe we haven't received the money from Swansea yet, so of course we won't pay them until we receive the money ourselves.... They have history after the Ipswich issues! We have one side of the story.... But any excuse, hey!!
Oh and from experience - the way this tends to work is we ask for the club for an invoice, which is then processed on the system, then someone either raises a cheque or requests their bank details to make a bank transfer - this sort of amount also normally has to be authorised by the chairman! So I'd presume it is the accounts department and GT...??
Excellent, cheered me up no end after the last few weeks. Roger how many soft goals have Watford conceded? They all count, even Reading's very special one.
I really don't think they are due any money from a sell on clause between swansea and us, 15% of OUR future 20%? piss off, its not like we get that for ashley young!
Wow, we (Danny) scored some brilliant goals last season didn't we!! Also shows his qualities really well. How he managed to create some of those opportunities was amazing!!
Depends on the original contract between Watford & Carlisle. If the wording defining the sell-on clause commits Watford to pay 15% of all profits Watford receives from the transfer of Danny Graham (and is not specific only to the initial transfer fee from Swansea to Watford), then arguably Watford would have to pay up (15%) on any sell-on fees (20%) they receive from Swansea. If however the original contract simply states that the 15% is paid on the profit that Watford makes at the time of selling the player on to another club (i.e. Swansea), then Carlisle have no case. After the Cowie contract affair, why am I not at all confident that we would not owe more to Carlisle when DG moves to Man Utd. in 2 years time?
I have found a Steve Claridge "Scouting Report" from March 2008. He sings Danny's praises and values him at £750k. Maybe, just maybe that Claridge bloke isn't such a clown after all? Have a look for yourselves : http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/mar/11/newsstory.carlisle
