Since those drubbings we have beaten Southampton away and now Man Utd. Two sides challenging for the top 4. That would suggest, defensively at least, we are getting back on track so I'll take that with a great big pinch of salt <ok>

A lot of valid points. "Sour and surly" sums up Van Gaal. No personality, no class.

Well, the Saints win was a fluke in the end,but hey, take it if you want to ignore the reality of the situation.
Chelsea,WBA,WHU,Southampton, all gave The Swans' the run around. Utd,were crap, despite what Van Gaal alleged. <ok>

Was it hell. We took the game to them during the second half and deserved the win, just like yesterday. Only Chelsea have given us a hammering out of those sides you just listed, but since then, we have beaten Southampton and Man Utd with some great defensive displays.

When all is said and read libertarian our performances are defined by the accumulation of points and over-all position in the league and I suggest that we've played well in far more games than we haven't. So why do you continually decry our performances beyond common sense?

Reality, we certainly played poorly through January but our poor form coincided directly with the loss of Bony, Ki, Siggy, Monterro. Our squad was so bare we had to call on our U21 team to make up the bench.

To the credit of Monk and his squad we got through this time, we recovered from Bony leaving and our starting players returned from international duty, injury and suspension and here we are again, doubling Manchester Utd, with 37 points and in 9th place in the premier league.

You can pinch as much salt as you want libertarian and ignore how decimated our squad was but the reality of the situation is that we are where we are because our overall performances have exceeded expectation and reflected in our points and position.

Try upgrading to broadband libertarian,as you are missing most things including the true reality of our position with your current narrow-band view.

    9th place, 37points, alleluia

Swans and west ham voted the two teams that have improved the best over a season.....they both are 10 points better off than this time last season and no other premiership team comes close.......<ok>

I think yesterday's win was thoroughly deserved. United weren't "crap" imo. They hadn't lost a game in 19 so that tells you something. An excellent defensive display that got us the points (OK and a bit of fortune on the winner).

But Southampton? We stole those points. We were awful, but they couldn't hit a barn door that day despite the chances. Shelvey can score those type of goals and they paid the penalty by backing off him. But I can't see how anyone can say that wasn't a smash and grab. Just my opinion folks. :emoticon-0142-happy

I wonder how many "flukes" Alex Ferguson had in his career, perhaps the 1999 European Cup Final win being the greatest. Ask him does he give a ****?

It doesn't count Dai, because if Siggy hadn't scored on the first day of the season we wouldn't have won at old Trafford, if Gomis hadn't done his plaits right we wouldn't have beaten Arsenal and if Shelvey wasn't scoring goals we'd be in the ******g Conference <laugh>

Football is not just about the forward play as no team has won anything if that's all they had, Its about defending too and the midfield. Against the saints we were missing players that made up of forward play so we knew we could not beat them on their own patch playing the forward more possession style so monk played the defensive style and went for a breakaway chance if one were to come, well we all saw that it did come on a few occasions during the game and it paid off as monks tactic's in that game paid off......we under monks management have become a multi game plan team and not like previous managers who were stuck with plan A and nothing else.....

PG. Sarcasm doesn't suit you sweetie. Good fortune is fantastic when it's running with you and Ferguson had a bit of it. But I think you'll find his success was based on much much more than that. Mainly, consistent performances over a period of years from his top players.

You seem to be mistaking my observations for criticism of some kind and it's only meant as a personal annoyance on consistency. Don't you think that we should have been more consistent this season? Because if you don't you're the first Swans fan I've heard say that.

Do I care we got lucky a few times? Of course not.

Do you want to comment on all the bad fortune we have had this season rather than lament our good fortune?

Name me a Premiership team that has been consistent this season.

haha, QPR definitely shown a lot of consistency this season, you can't argue with that. As for utd, there's definitely something missing there, they look a shell of the former sides under Ferguson. In Saturday's game there was barely any pressure put on the ref from the players, not much arguing when decisions went against them. Don't get me wrong, it was good to see less of that sort of nonsense but when you compare it to the Man City's and Chelsea's petulance and crowding of the referee I think it does say something more than just being better behaved. I think the mentality has changed from that sense of believing they are entitled to every decision, like they now realise their own frailties and lack of self-belief. I guess what I'm saying is there is a certain lack of arrogance that was there before with utd.
