Forget the stats, Man United are worse off under Van Gaal than under Moyes - Despite being five points better after 26 games, not to mention in the top four, Manchester United’s situation at present is more desperate now than it was a year ago. This is due to a number of reasons, including how much more Louis van Gaal has spent compared to David Moyes, the fact he hasn’t had to directly follow Fergie’s dynasty and title-winning swan song, the inexplicable reaction of LVG to Sam Allardyce’s recent mind games and the fact this United side do not have a European campaign to juggle with the league season. Of course, the worst thing United can do is react the way they did last term and change managers at Easter – surely someone of LVG’s calibre will require time to stop the pre-existing rot and fully implement his ways. That said, Moyes needed time for those exact same reasons!
They are not a sacking club though, they're Man U, so are different and wont sack Moyes I mean Van Gaal. I actually quite like him. He is a shsmrock short of a bowl of lucky charms.
Not 'Truth' is it? Moyes made his own bed by sacking all the back room staff, he'd still be here now if he didn't do that, but instead he fetched in Phillip Neville and Steve 'nodding dog' Round. Moyes got everything he deserved. Mate there's millions of pro-Moyes anti LVG articles by 'experts'. The same experts were tearing into Moyes every 5 minutes last season. It's fine for people to say LVG has spent the money and Moyes didn't. Truth is Herrera didn't want to play for Moyes and turned us down, then jumped at the chance to play for Van Gaal.
Yep, no one would see progress as being higher in the table with more points ........ especially in your first season having inherited a total mess left behind by the previous manager..
in that case we have progressed because we are one point better off than this point last season,i dont think a lot see it that way.
I'm sure they do ......... we were in the bottom 3 for most of last season and we haven't been this season. We looked absolute certainties to be relegated, it's nowt to get excited about but it's progress. Besides you can't just conveniently 'forget the stats' ....... they're what count in any competition. Stats are what dictate league placings, European qualification and income.
IIRC a short while back VanGaal was pencilled in at Spurs but somehow ended up as favourite at ManU during the world cup period. I often wonder if RvP had a word with him about the ManU situation and he changed course. Given today's ease of communication he could have been appointed by text after making sure that Spurs got their second choice manager and Koeman ended up at Soton on LvG's recommendation. Given how football is owned by men in high places it is not beyond the realms of possibility that a deal was brokered in that way.
LVG and Koeman can't stand each other. I've no doubt RVP had a say in his appointment, he was his national team manager so I'd imagine RVP has at least recommended him at some point.
there is a theory that rooney is wanting a move to the sol and thats why he is not shooting or getting forward its an effort to force a move ,he would be perfect

That said, they have just five more points (47 compared to 42) While United’s home form has been drastically better under LVG (they have the second-best home record in the league), their away record has been conspicuously worse — in total, Moyes won 10 of his 18 away matches at United, whereas so far, Van Gaal has won just three out of 13. While Moyes inherited a title-winning squad, he spent just £67.9million compared with the £150million given to Van Gaal. In total, LVG has 13 victories and 5 losses compared with 12 wins and eight defeats under Moyes at the same point last year. United’s scoring ratio is better under LVG (1.81 goals per game compared with 1.69 under Moyes). LVG’s record against the so-called ‘big’ Premier League teams is superior — of last year’s top four, only Man City have beaten them, while they’ve picked up league wins over both Arsenal and Liverpool. By contrast, under Moyes, Liverpool and Man City both did the double over United, whereas Chelsea also beat them. 2014-15 is the first season ever that Swansea have done the double over United. Conversely, under Moyes, the Red Devils themselves did the double over the Welsh side, winning 4-1 away and 2-0 at home in the league. What do you think? LVG took over a demoralised shambles left by Moyes. The two regimes can't be compared no matter how many daft stats you chuck at it.
