.... not for fear of them catching us and not because they will be relegated (unlikely IMO). It's to do with the fact that their defence is crap. Howard having a stinker today and I don't rate Jagielka or Distin. They need a decent keeper and centre-back and could come sniffing around the Britannia for ours in the summer and, after all, they are a bigger club than we are (ask Lennon)
His reason for declining us was " I wouldn't get in Stoke's side " Yeah right , I believe ya. Anyway they were a Lennon short on Merseyside.
From a transfer point I don't fear them, I don't think they represent anything bigger than us at present, I can't imagine their wage structure is much different and having spent 28 million on Lukaka I can't see them having much in the tin to spend until the likes off Barkley are sold.
