Interesting team selection...bench is strong, starting lineup somewhat lacking in people capable of turning chances into goals.
A lot of support for Saints here in Serbia, we're fast becoming their favourite Premiership team. I don't think Mr. Lovren is quite so popular.
Ronald Koeman: "It's up to us to show them (returning players) that there was no reason to leave Southampton."
Elia's not really much of a goalscorer, and never has been; Djuricic is two years removed from his last league goal; Pelle's in a prolonged dry spell. Not complaining because we do have options to bring on later in the game, and anyone can (and has in other such matches) pop up with a goal, but we may want for firepower in the first half.
Lallana is a good player. I don't know why Liverpool wanted to spend that much on him as I don't think he is better than your other options. But he's not worse, either. He's just kind of neutral, neither helping nor hurting the side. But I'll be happy if Lallana has a horrible game and proves me wrong.
That is the best Saints bench I have ever seen! Not sure whether that's good or bad. Koeman's either going to come out of this looking like a genius or have to face some hard questions..
I'm glad you said "were" - that's when the 3 L's were playing for us and now they're on the other side!
