Some of us have shown concern recently about our apparent lack of punch and today all that came to hit us full in the face. What on earth happened to concede 3 goals in the first 25 mins and the early substitutions?

Effort, not lofty league status, wins games and it seems that the lads were still on the bus when Colchester took the field and played catch up for the remaining 65 mins with over 60% of the possession, but to no avail. We have an extremely difficult game up at Doncaster on Tuesday and we had better join the real world and wake up if we aren't to have the unenviable record of losing 3 of our last 4 matches and allowing the teams below us to start dreaming of catching us for auto promotion spots.

P.S. Thank you very much Crawley Town, and nothing else needs to be said because I will leave it to you. Let's hope it was indeed just a bad day at the office although I wouldn't want to be on that bus this evening.

Its the time for teams to stand up and be counted

    We failed today

I have faith that we'll come back stronger

But I am slightly worried......everyone who is serious about a top 6 finish needs to take points at Colchester

    No excuses

    Move on

Two Saturdays and both with 3 goals conceded-Long, long time since that happened, but I had hoped the wake up call had happened after Tuesday's win. No disrespect to Colchester, but if we go 3-0 down in 26 mins there, what will it be like against a decent championship side?

It does concern me that our cup runs could be having an effect?

We were conceding goals so quickly my phone couldn't keep up.

Like the title says - a bad day at the office.
For the remainder of the campaign we are going to face teams like Colchester who are fighting like hell to avoid the drop. They are just as dangerous as teams fighting for promotion.
Maybe some complacency was at play here? Who knows.

Remember Crewe if you need proof. Over to you SC to pick up the pieces after today and take better play up to Doncaster and show them we won't be bossed around.

Swindon lost at home to Crawley! These things happen. Slightly concerning that we let 3 goals in so quickly but I do honestly think it was a bit of a fluke and just a lack of concentration by our lads. However, I do have every bit of confidence that the boys and Cotterill will put things right Tuesday night against Doncaster.

I do hope you are correct but those of us with much longer history of supporting Bristol City have too much experience of such unexpected results as today's.
It is why we appear to be old miseries but always believe that......................

Cotterill turns into a sulking 5 year old when we lose, he really doesn't portray himself or the club in a good light when he's just suffered a loss.

Did you see the interview? He acted like a petulant little child. There's a way to conduct yourself when things don't go your way.

Judging by our recent performances and list of away games he will need to practise a bit more

Having seen the goals on the FL Show, Fielding was very much at fault for the opener by dropping a simple cross, and Flint not being quick enough to react for their second

We have no divine right to win - every away game is tricky.

There will be ups and downs on the rest of the journey.

Yesterday's result was disappointing but we are still TOTL.

I go to the gate to see good football be it the home or away team and I have been criticised recently for saying that we have been extremely lucky in the last couple of months to win some games. While we are indeed top of the league the deficiencies in the team have been clear to most seasoned observers. The response to this has been to trust in Cotterill. he will deliver. My prediction on the current form is that the play offs is the most likely scenario. Time to really earn your corn SC

I said quite some time ago that we were not playing particularly well and needed to up the ante if we wanted to achieve auto promotion. Yesterday's match was a perfect example of where we are in our progress to that goal and I am not impressed. We can use all the excuses or phrases we want to offset our concerns but the simple fact of the matter is that we are playing poorly and, as lared says, we have got away with points in games where we didn't deserve them.

This is the time for SC and his lads to prove that they are worthy of an auto promotion spot and the only way to do that is to start bossing games, rather like Colchester in the first 25 mins yesterday, and unless we can reinstitute that kind of mentality we could be looking at the playoffs, where I believe most teams currently challenging for those spots are better than us based on our current form.

We all knew that we would hit a patch like this and yet I don't think a lot of us are enjoying it right now and regrettably we can't do anything about it except believe.

Just watched the FLS,Frankie Fielding was a diasaster yesterday.
    What was he doing.
Doncaster will beat us Tuesday unless we get our performance back on track.

Just watched the after match interview with SC and to say I am disappointed with his comments doesn't even come close. Using excuses such as bad pitch, four bad officials and fake head injuries to slow down the game only make the defeat worse, so my advice would be for Steve to get a pair and admit we played like amateurs and to say he will get the lads back in shape for Doncaster. Get real.

Agree. It's one thing to lambast the players in front of a camera (and they frankly deserved it from what I can see) and another to sound like an ungracious whiner.

Can't believe that some of our fans on here saying we might end up in the play offs blah blah.

**** me if we were Chelsea fans would we be saying that we might just scrape champions league after just getting a home draw with Burnley.

Based on our current form? We've done better than the two teams below us so let's stop panicking and just enjoy it, we was never going to win or get a draw in all 46 games.

If Cotterill said he wasn't happy, with this and that it's no different to what Fergie, Wengar or Jose, would say prefer him to bitter and twisted like them than just say "we where ****e in that first 26 minutes" which if you listened to it he almost admits that bit as well.

Chelsea, Man U Arsenal never won any of their leagues on tidy football they won games by playing against opponents who thought they deserved things but got worn down by them. Who many times did Man U win or sometimes be losing in the 85 minute playing crap to go on an win.

Also look at the player rushing into Fielding before starting the Fielding out campaign as well please.

Me I'm taking the second half performance after the players got told some truths at half time.

Yes I'm with you in that camp. And using the Chelsea analogy, Mourhino is a legendary moaner. No, Cotterill is still a candidate for sainthood in my book.
Maybe it's our supporters who need to 'grow a pair'.
I still reckon we will win the division
