I got to the ground fairly early and had an entertaining half hour with my pint watching from above various people trying to jump the queues and the stewards chasing them. They did try but some more sneaky folk got away with it. It does seem strange the 95/99 % of people join the back of the queue but a few just think it's their god give right to walk straight in!

Not locking them out would work.

Was it just a coincidence that you'd attended the HCST AGM a couple of hours earlier?

So you suggest the system just lets the people in who misuse/cannot use the system for whatever reason? Then what is the point of having the system at all? If fans are rocking up who have been locked out before then are they the same ones continually getting locked out? If so why? Is it the system or them? If it's more senior tigers who are having problems then maybe the people with them can help out more. If it's people with tickets going to the wrong turnstile then they should ask before entering if unsure. Do the away fans have the same problems?

I'm suggesting it doesn't assume they've gone in and display a message stating that the ticket has already been used. We already have a mechanical turnstile which was for decades has performed the task of determining when a supporter has gone in. This is tried and tested and not a problem. Our new system overrides the click of the turnstile and assumes you've gone in even though the turnstile hasn't moved. How can anyone defend that?

The point of the new system was to eliminate the need for turnstile staff. For that to happen, it didn't need to this ridiculous lockout thing. No other club has these problems that I'm aware of, and many have automated turnstiles. They just scan and wait for you to go in. Ours assumes you've gone in even if the turnstile isn't moved.

Wembley stadium has the same lockout thing as ours. They have a far larger capacity than ours. Instead of knocking a system that is easy to use it might be better asking what is it that some of our fans are struggling with. It is probably a small percentage that are then holding the rest up.

How ****ing difficult is it to scan a barcode?

PLT, I know you like to bash Allam at any opportunity (mostly deserved), but sometimes you just have to admit we have a lot of fans that aren't that bright...

I think it's a combination of a not very good system and a small number of people who can't scan a barcode , was behind a kid yesterday who didn't realise that you needed to put the barcode under the red laser , and he had a season ticket .

There just aren't enough turnstiles in the North stand for the amount of people that go through. It takes about 15 minutes every week no matter what time you get there

The club should send our fans on a scanning course at the self-service checkouts at Tesco St.Stephen's.

Agree with that - they were obviously built with the smaller numbers of away followers in mind, not for a popular home section.
The queues go right back over the grass verge every week!

Yesterday I accidentely took my 2013/14 pass, when I scanned it is said 'invalid' I asked the girl what was up and she just buzzed me in no questions asked, it wasn't till I got to my seat the I noticed what I'd done, dozy bint. The whole ticket system is a ****ing farce though, from division three all the way up to the prem the first time round we never had a queue, now its like the last days of Rome trying to get in every week. It's just another example of us doing something wrong as a club where many others are doing it properly: Manchester City, Middlesbrough etc.

I must admit that I have been to one home league game this season (Swansea) and had trouble with the system. I was there at about 2:20pm I think so I didn't hold up a queue but I did have to try and scan it 4-5 times.

I printed the ticket at home and I'm sure it had two separate barcodes on it. Also, taking an A4 piece of paper meant it was folded a few times (I made sure not to fold it through the barcode though). I assume with a season card (and one you use every other week) it must be straight forward.

In short, I was not very impressed with the system.

I'm amazed at the widespread attitude that it must be the fans fault. Sums our club up at the moment.

Funny how it's different turnstiles every week, different areas and doesn't seem to be affected by the size of the crowd.

If Wembley has a lockout thing it obviously works a lot better than ours otherwise a lot of people would have missed early parts of our semi and final.

Also funny how our fans dealt fine with it with no problems at Wembley in an unfamiliar scenario while pissed up but it doesn't work time and time again at our own familiar stadium with less alcohol consumed. The one difference is the system. But no its the fans' fault. Incredible.

I actually raised this at an FWG meeting and pointed out the sheer stupidity of a system assuming someone has gone in when the turnstile hasn't moved. It seemed to come as a surprise to the club who from what I could gather didn't design that. But it's their responsibility now and it desperately needs sorting, and not just with another lecture about getting there at midday.

What this has got to do with Allam is beyond me.

At my turnstile they had two stewards but only one card between them; what's the point in that?
