Williams was outstanding - again. It looked like he was throwing up on the pitch towards the end of the warm up.
Haven't seen any replays yet, but someone was suggesting Ash may have deflected the ball just inside the post for their goal? Anyone else see that?

It did look like it from one camera angle, but it wasn't a deflection from Ash, he did not touch the ball, close though................<ok>

    Noticeable -

We gave away very few free kicks.
:afro: should have been off for two yellows in the first 20 minutes but apart from that, a soft booking for Williams and 5 minutes extra time he was very even and didn't take any United crud.
Once again Shelvey used his get out of jail card with a speculative shot that resulted in a goal - for me though, that and 10 minutes of doing simp things well doesn't outweigh the 70 minutes of giving the ball away cheaply, failing to track back and not providing pass options.
Taylor was very good, Ash (who I thought I'd seen throwing up just before kick off), Fernandez, Fabianski, Cork, Ki and were outstanding.
Gomis doesn't stop working and can play a very similar game to Bony (but not with the same strength).
Ki is playing like a silent assassin - another game where he's ghosted in to claim a goal.
Ki doesn't have a lot of pace!
We've practiced corners? The few we had were well delivered.
Our defence is based on putting as many bodies in the box as possible.
We like other teams to have the ball.

Good day all round, a good win, Gomis on the scoresheet and a correct match forecast.

If Gomis hadn't touch it De Gea had an easy save.
I'm pretty sure after seeing replays that Ash nudged Herrera's shot just inside the post too.

I've had a good laugh this morning reading LVG claiming they had a chance every two minutes in the second half. Now it must be me because I though they did jack 5hit, all huff and puff with no substance. Powder puff football, oh and whats with the long ball 5hit they are doing now. LVG has the cheek to criticise West Ham and they are no better.

With the way they were hoofing the ball up top, we could have all buggered off home and left them too it, and they still wouldn't have scored. :)

Think of the strikers as Chiefs, think of their defenders as Indians. They have too many chiefs and not enough Indians. Not only does that mean they are s lop sided team but too many chiefs mean too many conflicting ideas, and this is why United failed yesterday... each striker need to be the focal point but VG wants them all to build up the play? Football has never worked that way.

There was a time when their swagger and arrogance was fully justified, and few teams could live with them.
It can't be denied, however, that this Utd.team falls far short of what that Club is used to putting out.
Now they are just another P.L. team,overrated,over-hyped,and with overpaid players and staff.
It's always a great pleasure to see Utd.lose, but I take yesterday's result with a pinch of salt, since it in no way eradicates the recent drubbings The Swans' have experienced.
