Let's face it, if he's that good and has played in Europe he's unlikely to come to us. And he's another player used to playing two up front or one forward of three attacking midfield players.

True - but so will a lot of others who can offer a lot more. Probably depends on what we are prepared to put in his pocket.

I thought he had a good all round game yesterday.. The aim now should be to produce it consistently until the end of the season.

His defensive headers in our own box yesterday were crucial with the amount of corners Man Utd had in the second half.

    Absolutely - very Wilflike.
Also placing Taylor underneath Fellaini took away some of their aerial prowess.

Staggered by this, He did a couple of good things during the game which were the early headed chance where he actually hit the target and defensively at corners. Apart from that I thought the rest of his play was poor again. He has the first touch of a baby elephant and it is that bad it is almost a pass. His hold up play is poor at best. He was up against light weight defenders but was unable to hold it up at all. He tries to turn at every ball his played in to him. Hold it and lay it off. He took no pressure off us when we were under the cosh in the second half.

Yes the goal, he was trying to get out of the efing way and it hit him on the back of the head. That is the only way he was going to score. We need to try someone else soon.

Someone's going to be upset <laugh>

Swansea City forward Bafetimbi Gomis has been named in the European team of the week for his performance against Manchester United at the weekend. Each week Spanish newspaper Sport select the best eleven players from outside La Liga, and Gomis has been picked after scoring the winner against Louis van Gaal’s team.
Gomis has spent much of the season in the shadow of Wifired Bony, but since the Ivory Coast international left for Manchester City in the transfer window he has started to show why the club signed him from Marseille last summer. The former Lyon star has only started ten league games this season but has played the full ninety minutes in the last 7 matches.
Gomis popped up to score the late winner as Swansea recorded a 2-1 victory over their Premier League rivals, after Manchester United had opened the scoring. This was only Gomis’ second league goal of the season and his first since scoring against Arsenal in November. The forward has also scored three goals in the Capital One Cup and FA Cup.
Swansea win on Saturday enabled them to make ground on 8th place West Ham United after the London side could only manage a draw against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. Manager Garry Monk will be confident that his side can now finish the season in the top half of the table, and achieve their best league position since being promoted to the top flight of English football.

Not sure about Gomis being in the European team of the week (there again some thought Jonjo played well!!!) but he did have a very good game.
He isn't Wilf (no one is Wilf - I think we had the pleasure of a true individual with Mr Bony) but I am getting to appreciate him now he's had a few games.
As much as the work he puts in defensively as well as in attack, I think it has a lot to do with the space he creates for others to make the most of.
Space is what allows players to be creative and in defence/midfield it allows players options to pas and keep possession. What you do off the ball is as important as why you do on it, which is why Leon, Joe and Carroll have such a big impact on games.

Still unsure about Gomis and he does have to start hitting the target, but at the moment, he is an asset
