Chasing the dream and 90m lure of the premiership. If we were leicester fans we would not be worried about the price just the quality of players they are bringing in. As we are not and like every fan of every championship team we hope they fall on their ass big time. Bring on the snow !!!!!!!!!!
Money doesn't win football matches, building a team who fight together does. Can you imagine all the ego's in the dressing room!
I imagine Sven will have some tricks up his sleeve in the loan market too. I think the players they've bought in so far have been good signings. I have every expectation of them finishing in the top two next season.
Remind you of anyone? Big name manager... paying over the odds for players and packing out the squad!!! Mills is a decent defender, I thought it would have been good for us to bid for him but no more than a couple of million really, £5 million, well done Reading!!!
its brilliant being the talk of the town, youre all just jealous. It doesnt matter to our owners how much we pay, it is just about the quality, they are worth 400 million. Matt Mills is the best CB in the league,or at worst one of the best. Our other signings cost a modest amount. Dont be surprised if we get Naughton back too, and win the cat and mouse game for maynard. Its going to be a lot of fun smashing this league.
Like I said above, the Manchester City of the Championship and look how they have smashed the Premier League in the last three seasons. Too cocky, too quick thinks me.
Good luck to them but I have a feeling that there will be tears before bed time! As for your tag line mate just don't count your chickens and all that. It shows complete and utter disrepect to everyone else so if you want to win the title of most hated club in this division then by all means carry on!
its brilliant being the talk of the town, youre all just jealous. It doesnt matter to our owners how much we pay, it is just about the quality, they are worth 400 million. ===================================== Is that all! **** me Marcus Evans is worth £700 Million so why aren't we pissing money all over the place on over inflated transfer fees! Ah silly me we have a stable business plan!
love your signature btw, classic. i see what you are saying i guess we just have big ambitions, just hope it works, but its exciting nonetheless, you cant blame me for getting a bit carried away lol. BTW really hope chopra fails- great player but a nasty little ****
QPR splashed the cash and didn't go anywhere until there was a change at the top and the right manager came in. Norwich didn't have to spend much at all the blow away the competition with the right man at the helm. Chucking money at players is no guarantee of anything, as West Ham are very good evidence.
You cant blame them for wanting to get out of this league, so they are signing quality players in St. Ledger, Nugent, and now Mills. I have to agree the fee for Mills seems way over the top but they have the money and are showing some serious intent to get to the promised land. Do we wish we were? Of course we do, but if it all goes wrong they are going to look the biggest bunch of ladies rude bits in the league!
All this, takes me back to a thread of some 2 or 3 weeks ago. I said then, that I would rather follow my team (Even if it meant the Blue Square etc), with local lads wearing the blue n white and getting a free pint at the nearest boozer, but with the club able to hold their head high above the water line, rather than a club who is non exsistent because they went bankrupt. If Sven and the Leicester owners want to blow their cash and fail, then let them. Lets not get into pathetic arguments, well if they spend 5m, then we must. IPSWICH TILL I DIE
Controversial. But I think Sven will do it with Leicester, he turned them into a cracking team (for the most part) last season and his signings of Nugent, Danns, St Ledger and now Mills are all top Championship players looking to make the Premier league. I think they've been shafted for Mills but realistically they have an incredibly strong side and with players with the same ambition. I cant see them finishing outside the top two. Plus they're linked with Maynard and I fancy some extravagant business with loans. ala 'the Yak' last season.
Admirable but entirely unrealistic in today's modern game. Also I would say it is not something any club subscribes to outside of the provincial lower leagues (I'm talking 10th tier and below). Ipswich is by no means any different and judging by the current/recent squads, the most appropriate drink down the boozer would be Guinness...
