We always struggle to break teams down when it's this sort of game. Most fans don't realise if there are 9 out-field players defending their box there is very little space. That's OK if you have a player like Silva, Sanchez, Fabregas etc who can pass a ball through the eye of a needle but we don't have players of that quality so we just have to keep the ball, ignore the clueless idiots who shout forward at every opportunity, get it wide and deliver good crosses. We didn't play particularly well today but still did the biz.
QPR played well IMO. After the red card anyway. As teams do in such situations, they tightened up but still looked handy up top. I was impressed with Austin. Good to see we had the guts to see it through. Not pretty, but highly satisfying.
He could have given them a caution and then, if/when they did it again, give a Yellow. Any dispute over that, give another yellow.

We didn't play well, but as has already been said, it's nice to see us grab a late goal for a change. The ballboy situation is a joke, either get more or get better ones, there were none in front of the south stand and the lazy lad near the south east corner who ran with his hands in his pocket seemed to take an age to get to every ball. A joke and something needs doing about it. If we can't have multi ball then at least have more ball boys to get the ball back in play. Glad to see N'doye score again, he didn't quite have the impact on the rest of the field but his goal more than made up for it. Brady had a shocker for most of the game, why doesn't he take men on anymore? He's always looking for the inside ball, he could learn a thing or two from their number 7 (Philips I think). If our back 3 are playing that well we can afford to have Robertson bombing forward. Happy we won, had we not I'd have been very angry because the performance was very sub par, especially at home.
You can as part of a defensive manoeuvre when the odds look stacked against you. Go in quick and low - then run for it.
He had his hands full with Phillips who is a excellent player, pushed him back some what. Brady has an excellent left foot! Did he not provide a the goal?
Tom Huddlestone @Huddz8 9s9 seconds ago just checked and still 2 please log in to view this image . Was just a reaction thing from Barton, nothing major in my eyes. Referee was left with a decision to make though
Personally thought Brady was very good today and was unlucky to miss out on my top 3. Also thought Ramirez was excellent when he came on. He should definitely take Meylers place next weekend. I know he won't.
Ramirez is fantastic at receiving the ball under pressure and in tight situations. Then beating his man and then passing the ball.
I still can't quite fathom out, how it took the ref, nearly a ****ing hour to book the moaning, cheating ****.
I mentioned this on another thread about the ball boys. Today's result was absolutely fantastic but they need sorting out.
Well done today fellas. Obviously I'm gutted losing so late having played so well with 10 men but them's the breaks. Fair play re the pre-match banter. You're good sports With a bit of luck we'll both still be in the Prem at the end of the season. So long Tigers!
Well that was a lovely day out. If I hear anyone claim Bruce only plays defensively I may get narky. 5 strikers. On at the same time. Kin ell.
It was a tense second half, but our two strikers got us the win. I hope Diame will be fit enough to play sometime soon which would help to increase forward movement from midfield which at the moment is not nearly enough. Essential win though.
Obviously hugely relieved to win today but can't help but feel that it would have been a bit more comfortable if Livermore and Meyler could play a 5 yard through ball, twice in the second half they both had the opportunity to lay it through to the strikers which would have left them one on one, and both times they made a total hash of it; I read a stat at the end of last season that pointed out we played significantly fewer through balls than everybody else in the league last season and with these two in the middle of the park it's easy to see why, I've seen more dynamic foliage.
You did read that stat, and rather than merely 'significantly few', we actually played less through balls throughout the entire season than every other side did in a single match.
