Match Thread up on the Premier League board for those who want a bit of banter without the threat of a ban.
I don't hate them. Lallana I don't really care about. Lovren I will boo. Lambert don't really care either. The thing that I find worse then booing is the clapping and cheering for a ex player before and during a game.
I thought I'd be feeling generous to Rickie by this time, but I do find that I don't really give a monkey's. Emotionally, I've tarred him with the same brush as all the other players who left. They jumped ship when they thought the going was good. I give Rickie much more of the benefit of the doubt though, so there's no specific anti-feeling towards him. The way I still feel about the rest, they can fail miserably in their careers as far as I'm concerned. To be honest, I've surprised myself. And I don't care whether it's illogical or whatever. And I want that Liverpool team properly beaten tomorrow, so that I can lose this chip on my shoulder. I don't like feeling this way.
I think that the pverwhelming majority of people will be trying to create a cracking positive atmosphere to be honest. As someone above said, it is just a pantomime really!
I won't be booing any players tomorrow, just don't want to waste my breath on them. At the FT whistle I will be more than happy to show my thanks to Lambert.
Lets just celebrate the fact that we can go 3rd if we winand worst ccase scenario we will be 5th ,,,,,who could have guessed that
Here's my preview: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/content.php?578-PREVIEW-SAINTS-vs-Liverpool-Barclays-Premier-League Spoiler: Encouraging stat at the end...
In a week where we have seen real hate shown on a train from idiot Chelsea 'supporters', lets get a little perspective and sanity on the subjects of ex-players who left in a rather disgraceful manner. When they make mistakes tomorrow we should laugh, perhaps a boo when they are announced, but other than that cheer the team. The best revenge is to beat them and go third. There is no place for hate in a football game, and I really disliked Liverpool before they went there.
Lovren I will probably boo or groan at, Lallana I will do nothing, and I'll clap Rickie if he comes on. Always loved Rickie. I don't want the booing or jeering though to become the focus. "Brendan Rodgers, you're a ****er, you're a ****er" is probably worth a sing though.
I won't boo anyone, what's the point, they would't even hear me all the way down from Croatia. Anyway, I'll predict we'll win tomorrow.
For me, a win for us tomorrow would be our biggest statement so far. I'm not saying it would necessarily be a bigger or more impressive win than ours wins against Arsenal and Utd last month, but I do think it would make the biggest overall impact to date; on us, on our rivals, on the neutrals. Do I think we will win tomorrow? No. Can we win tomorrow? Absolutely.
Question for you delightful Southampton fans. I know you are in 'the race for top 4', but how do you feel about it all. Would you be happy to just get Europe in general? Would you say that is a great experience anyway and Champions League would just be a bonus? Just interested in your views on the outcome of where you finish, ignoring that you obviously want top 4, but would you be pleasantly pleased with Europa?
1. I'm delighted we've shocked everyone this year 2. I'm delighted we've replaced Pochettino with Big Ron 3. I'll be delighted with an improvement on last year (which we will) 4- if we end up in Europa league, great, I'll be pleased 5. We've been there for so long, it'd be kinda sad not to make top 4 now, though I don't expect it. But above all, I want to finish above Liverpool, for the way you went about our players, the way Lallana and Lovren behaved and for the way bleating Brenda totally disrespected us with his comments before the season. It would be so satisfying to hear his excuses if we finish above you lot.
Le Tissier and Koeman speak ahead of the game: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...tstripping-says-matt-le-tissier-10061850.html
Can never read the Independent on my computer....loads, but won't scan down. Reducing it to 30% squeezes in a bit more, but still only gives you part of the article. I'm sorry I mentioned that because now someone will think they have to tell me something technical (sigh).
