Near heart attack aside, we're up to 3rd (will end weekend in Top 4), stuck in despite Palace's near relentlessness and will take it. Midweek game coming up, need a win vs. Monaco.
That was ****ing dire, but I prefer it to playing well and losing. I have to say though that the last two league performances have got me slightly concerned. We haven't showed any fluency going forward or professionalism in seeing games out. We really need to regain our intensity back, seems like the players get tired around the 70th minute mark.
Maybe I'm expecting too much, just think with the players we have we should be able to impose ourselves a bit more in these types of games.
I think we were a bit restrained due to the midweek game in mind. Palace were always going to come out with intensity and fervor but we seemed hesitant to go all out. Probably didn't want to burn ourselves out.
Third is now very much on and in truth we should seal it was some ease when you consider our fixture list. I guess it's an improvement on last season, but it's just tragic that it took us half a season to find a balance within the team, and that has cost us a shot at the title.
Centre backs were superb, as was Cazorla. Giroud and Sanchez were starved of service. Welbeck was poor, even though he contributed to our 2 dodgy goals. Happy with the result. Feel some may need to go on the Man U thread and ask whether this now means we are the better team...
Oh and even though I may have had a mild heart attack, Palace deserved a goal and I hope that gives them confidence for the rest of the season. They didn't create much, but played superbly. Hope they stay up.
Bloody he'll 3rd! I wasn't expecting that after the loss to spurs. Credit to the team for getting it together. Didn't see the game but looming forward to mod.
After the spurs loss I said come end of march we'd be comfortably in third given the fixtures of each team, seems we arrived earlier than I expected! Though we aren't comfortably above the others yet. Provided we string together wins in our next few games which are all winnable we shouldn't have to many nerves heading into the final stretch.
