At 33, I wouldn't think he's in that much hurry to look elsewhere. He's got a good squad which he can develop and make his name. Also, PL clubs would think it's still early days.
I'm not saying it's a bad thing. Ambitious, successful people need somewhere to show it, it's mutually beneficial.
Weren't we top of the league after 7 games under Adams? Look how his managerial career turned out! I can't see Prem clubs taking a punt for at least a couple of seasons, and hopefully then we'll be in the Prem!
Watford 0 Norwich 3 1p5swich 0 Reading 1 Villa 1 Stoke 2 Boro 0 Feeds 1 Swans 2 Manure 1 ..................if Carlsberg did Saturdays ?
Same Derby got a result but it's a set of results Id have bitten your hand off if offered this morning.
Was at the game today, the first half was poor don't know what was going on as we could barely string two passes together, what I found the most worrying was how Whittaker was isolated Watford often doubled up on the right wing, the referee didn't help matters too. The Second half though WOW! not sure what Neil said but we were absolutely superb, Wes was brilliant and instrumental with a lot of our movements it was like the vintage Hoolahan of 09-12. One big positive which will be overlooked the defence was brilliant Olsson was a bit dodgy but I thought Bassong, Martin and Whittaker were brilliant, Ruddy was confident and commanded the box like days of old. I've often singled out Rusty for being a poor centre back but he was excellent today and even managed to out muscle Troy Deeney on a few occasions, Bassong had Deeney in his pocket for most of the match but dealt well with the sly Ighalo who liberally threw himself of the ground at times. The crowd were absolutely superb wish we had more fans of this calibre, the people near us were a good laugh even though there was a woman who didn't like Cameron Jerome because he was lazy....It was one of those 'What the ****!' moments but I'll let that one lie. One thing I did find hilarious was some fat Watford fan who tried to wind our fans up but end up being goaded back by our fans and threw a man child fit of epic proportions, stormed out at 3-0 with his weasley mate and then tried to walk along the TV gantry at the side and offer 2000 odd Norwich fans to a fight which John Salako and the Sky team found hilarious.
That fat guy was hilarious! I thought the atmosphere was brilliant. Agree in your assessment of the players. Whittaker had possibly his best all-round game for us. I thought Dorrans, in his ten-minute cameo, looked a class above. Touch was magnificent and already seems to have an understanding with Howson. Interesting that it seems to be pushing Hoolahan onto a new level! It's difficult to criticise on a day like this, but if I'm going to be really harsh I think Olsson needs a break. I also thought that our ball retention first half was really poor and although they didn't have a single shot on target, when we fail to keep the ball we're our own worst enemies. I also think Tettey and Johnson need to have a word with themselves about the circumstances of their yellow cards. On another day having both DMs yellowed before half time could really have cost us. Overall though, the best thing about this is that I didn't think watford played all that badly! They were better than many I've seen. Shame about that diving Angella (yes, yes Hoolahan dived too, but Angella's was ludicrous) who got a lot of stick in the first half, but otherwise I thought Watford played some decent football. I really rate Abdi and Vydra.
I could see a group of about 100 or so of our fans pointing and doing hand signs at that stand, but when I looked across there was lots of miserable fans sat there quietly I was thought there would be a mob of angry Watford fans but there was nothing, so I scanned and eventually at the top there was fatty trying to conduct to our fans, as the game past he got more and more irritate he couldn't sit in his chair as he was getting up all the time and even more of our fans joined in. Dorrans was good he looks very comfortable on the ball and seemed to have a good passing range. Yes that was a bit of a worry, the ref had double standards at time Deeney should of at least been yellowed as he was constantly bullying the linesman, also that Watson guy was lucky to remain on the pitch was yellowed but got away with causing a fracas.
Just watched the highlights on the League show and a couple of points I'd like to make. 1. It was never a penalty when Wes went down. 2. I hope Grabban doesn't become our regular penalty taker. I know he scored, but only just, as he puts his penalties along the ground and if the keeper guesses the right way, it's saved. I know he took a penalty earlier in the season, put it to the keeper's left and he saved it, but scored from the rebound. I raised my concern when I heard on the commentary that he was going to take it!!! The 2nd and 3rd goals were excellent and Wes certainly played well. I know AN has said he'll use the full squad in the push for the autos. Overall though. I'm extremely pleased with our play in recent games. In the last 2 weeks, we've played two of the teams in the top 8 and who have been scoring goals for fun, but we have limited them to very few attempts on goal and have prevented them from scoring!!! Happy days!!!
Apologies in advance guys but I doubt I'll be able to put up a match thread anywhere near the usual standard for Tuesday's game. Day off on Friday so Sunday's will make up for it
Simeon Jackson 17 in 73 games Grabban 11 in 29 games so far. Weirdly enough they are about the same age but the comparison ends there IMHO..
