    --------------Westwood----------------
    O'Shea----Brown----Ferdinand--Bardsley------
    Larsson--Gardner--Gibson--Richardson
    ----------Gyan---Wickham-----

I'm being serious, whats your feelings about coming up against a team like that when we play them next?

I know this is not Sunderland's strongest squad, but I looked at their lengthy injury list (Biggest in the league with many having no return date.) No Bramble :(

While their squad is a lot stronger, their starting XI isnt much better in my eyes, depends whether the new boys have bottle, especially in midfield. We did do the double over Birmingham though <whistle>

Lose Gibson and put in Sessegnon and your team is getting closer, although the forward to play with Gyan isn't certain yet.

It should be a cracker. I am not confident of winning it though. I think 2-2 would be a good result for us, both teams have got good attacking options. Sunderland have a half decent defence as well though. We are always a threat at set pieces though, good delivery, along with Ba, Colo, Saylor to win the ball in the air.

We have more pace in midfield though, I just can't see us winning away from home.

I know that Gardner did aright there, however, didn't Birmingham have the lowest possession in the Premier League? He's not exactly a dominant midfielder. I was going to put Sessègnon in there, however, he gives the ball away as a hobby.

Very average, and absolutely no upgrade in quality over last season. Not even a smidge.

He was alright but his goalscoring record is hardly that of a real goalscoring midfielder, which he's been signed as. We should have sold them Nolan!

For the away game I'd take a draw now, really early game and a defeat could be terrible for our season.

I would imaging Whickham would get the nod before Dong-Won. Unless you play 4-5-1 at home? Not an good idea really.

    Yes I'm scared. Very scared.
That's my girlfriends birthday and I probably won't have a clue what to get her.

Hope Jose leaves AFTER the derby if he's gonna leave. And I hope that we keep the majority of the squad who've played against them before so know what it's about in the squad for this match. With so many new faces at their club, that don't know what the occasion means to the people, then I think that puts us at a slight advantage.

Surely Mackems can't look at that starting 11 and claim that it's stronger than ours?

I would think so, but I supect it would be more of a 3-4-1-2 with Sess playing behing the two strikers. Whickham might be a bit inexperienced to start, but then again he may be fearless about it, being that young. We're also after a Russian striker, apparently, so nothing is cast in stone yet.

To be fair to them, they currently have the most horrendous injury's in the Premier League with 8 senior team players out and no return dates for most. But our midfield would take that one apart.
