Afternoon all, Very grey and wet here...takes a bit of adjusting to after being in the warm for so long. Mrs H required shelves putting up in the utility room this afternoon...also took a bit of adjusting to after touring SL and relaxing with a beer in my hand!

Morning all, a bit of a wind this morning, but not that cold outside. Seems as if the government out here had to threaten it's MPs to vote for a relaxation on Sunday trading laws. Certain places such as garden centres are allowed to open on Sundays, but with the exception of five days a year the large supermarkets are only allowed to open in the morning so people can buy bread. The revolt of the law makers came about because the government wished to extend the five days a year to twelve. No debate was held as Mr. Hollande knew he would lose, so a rarely used measure was dusted off to get it through. There was quite an interesting study of the effects in the UK on small shopkeepers when the Sunday trading laws changed. It showed that many a high street suffered with mainly the traders there unable to compete with the big stores. Many owners already worked six days, and seven was just too much for them.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/ampp3d/bedfordshire-murder-capital-britain-see-5190085? I see that Bedfordshire is the "murder capital" of England and Wales. Some of the statistics are interesting and confirm what we know but forget. You are most likely to be murdered by someone you know.
Good morning all from a cold Weston-super-Mare! Have a good day and may the game be won, lost or drawn for footballing reasons and not from interference from the man in black!
Morning Dave - very diplomatically put. Bloody cold up here too - bright blue sky, sunshine and an inch of frost on the windscreens. Just hope that the snow stays away please log in to view this image
Morning all, The long johns are donned and I'll shortly be heading for the M3...fully dressed in case there should be any misunderstanding. My nephew and brother-in-law have sadly cancelled their season tickets - both distance, health and family stuff prompting the rather sudden decision. It'll be the first game we haven't attended together for more than 20 years and leaves me with a hard decision to make about renewing for next season.
32 years for me personally, Brian, so yes, sad indeed. Mind you M3 roadworks and a coach breakdown meant a three-hour journey to Watford yesterday and the queue to get off the M25 on the way back was so bad I gave up and went via the A3, getting home around 7.30. Lads and lasses sounds good though they might not want to sit with an old git in the Upper GT stand...
Theo, I think most would deem it an honour to share your company, I know I would, as I would most of the good folks on here!
