They were called Everton F.C. and Athletic Grounds. I think Liverpool are registered as Liverpool FC and Athletic Grounds. Maybe somebody thought the words Athletic and Grounds were common and dropped them. About time the shortened the name from Liverpool FC to Liverpool Liver Birds to help market the where they rever mythological birds.

Just because someone knows about other clubs doesn't mean they are closet supporters. It just means they know more about them than you do. Partially because some people acquire knowledge of things through the years. And are capable of remembering things.
