I don't care if Levi Roots is shouting it from the rooftops! Great news if this is off. Just as we suspected, there was never going to be a benefit to the Club. It was either a loan or an 'investment' (both of which we would have to pay back with interest) or it was a cashing in by some on the Board leaving us in the hands of foreign owners. Looks like it's the latter. For that reason I really really hope this doesn't happen.
I can't argue with that Dai and also find that sad. Perhaps we'd better drop this "Community Club" crap and realise that we are no different to any other football club in the League
Dai states that the Trust will never get 25% but I'm not so sure, if you read todays Trust statement, then you will see that the Trust is going to pursue through legal channels the securing of it's position regardless, and I see new conditions will be laid down that the board must accept unless they allow for the increase share value up to 25% which will give the same security against foreign investors....................
It may have been a gentlemans agreement at the time. At the end of the day, if the Trust had millions of pounds there is no reason why it couldn't obtain over 25% of the shares. It hasn't got millions which is why I feel the honourable thing to do now is for the shareholders to gift the 4.01% to the Trust. But that would lower the value of their own personal shares............
But with the new BT/Sky Sports tv deals going to increase the value of the club, they could get their £30 million easily and still give the Trus 4.01%. After all, £30million for 30% doesn't sound like good business sense to me for a club that has been in the PL for 4 years and fast becoming an established member of the league. Their decisions are now under a microscope, their legacy will either be elevated further or destroyed over the coming weeks/months..
had a total e-membership of around 12,000 but a paid membership of 1,133. Why so few I wonder? Have there been any votes required lately because I have not been asked to vote on anything?
Music to my ears Dragon, music to me ears. Its clear the Americans saw us as a diamond in the rough to mine, polish and cut. Join the trust here http://www.swanstrust.co.uk/join-the-trust/
As directors of the club and wealthy men in their own right they wont give a bunch of fans and make no mistake that's all we are who have put money into the club anywhere near a quarter of the clubs shares. If it was a single person then there would be no problem but you cant have a thousand plus share holders having any say at board level it would be mayhem and un workable because if we did have a say then all paid up members would be entitled to attend and vote on issues.....It would devalue the shares considerably and make the way we run the club a farce.... The trust has done its job it has helped in a big way to save the club by raising funds but now its just a talking shop and nothing more.....I'm disappointed after last night and cant see the point of it any more...
