I've just stuck Terminator on, the original. Seen it a million times and love it. What's your favourite Sci-Fi film? Mines a close call between 2 James Cameron classics - Aliens and Terminator 2 but I think T2 just pips it.
Aliens is the best of that franchise. I'm a big fan of (sadly, very gay Jodie Foster)!!!!! Contact is a great film!! Why is she gay? WHY??? WHY???
Prefer predator to alien and terminator. Starship troopers was on earlier. The stylised cheese is great. The sequels are a pile of poop though.
It's the accent I think. I love those southern states women, Jody, Holly Hunter, Jami Gertz . Spent some time in South Carolina. I just love the accent down Dixie, lol,... ****, I'm not a perv am I ??
Bloody hell watching 2001: a space odyssey I didn't realise Leonard Rossiter was in it - I was expecting him to break into Rigsby!
Few more I could watch anytime Soylent Green original Planet of the apes West world And a few non sci-fi The man who would be king The parallax view The long good Friday Moby Dick Could happily sit down and watch these any time they are on
Thought they nailed it in terms of emotional depth. So hard to do with a film like that but they really had it.
I've got really into Westerns at the moment... A Fistful of Dollars... For a Few Dollars More... The Good, The Bad and The Ginger Mackem...
It's because they nail the realistic look. I mean I've got them on blue ray and they look incredible. So realistic it tricks your brain into believing it could be real hence investing your emotion in the film. Great script and the very best effects. A cracking combination.
I don't even think the CGI is that important mate. I streamed an awful quality copy and haven't seen it since. Obviously the CGI is unbelievable and will help but I think it's the script that did it for e.
erererer miss Jones !. Rigsby in 2001, John le mesurier in Ben hur ! I can imagine him saying " would you mind rowing this ship a bit faster gentlemen" Gene wilder in Bonny and Clyde, Eric sykes in Shalako, John cleese in Silverado, Oliver hardy in the kentuckian. Forbidden planet, the day the earth stood still, and non sci/fi would be the precedent project with James Coburn, Love and bullets/Mr Majestyk (the keys ! go on you tube very funny) Charles Bronson, any Amicus film I am collecting them all.
I think Star Wars spoiled Sci-Fi for me, scared me off it so much I avoid it if I can. Star Wars FFS, what an incredible pile of ****. I'd rather watch Sandy Toxfig recite the Bible with her tits out.
