  1. I'll be surprised if Lambert plays but there is a good chance the two you mentioned will play a part. With Sterling back available, Lallana may not start. Pretty certain Lovren won't start.

We could certainly do with winning this and certainly cannot afford to lose.

Will be difficult as they will have a point to prove after our transfers last season.

I'm hoping Studge will come to the party this game and has got rid of the rust last night in a game where he was absolutely shocking!

    2-3 Liverpool

Don't think we'll concede 3, only happened twice this season so far, to City and Palace (<doh>) in the cup.

    3-4-1-2

Balotelli has to start, was immense yesterday and has scored 2 in 3 now. Deserves a start. Couthino looks knackered and has played over 20 in a row so I'd bring Balo in for him and play him up next to Sturridge with Lallana in behind. Sterling to come on later and inject some pace once they are starting to tire.

Wouldn't be surprised if Balotelli doesn't even make the bench to be honest. We know how childish and petty Brendan is, so wouldn't surprise me at all.

I won't hate it if he starts but Balotelli on the bench gives us options to change things

We've got a bit of a selection headache in attack for this one. Sturridge, Sterling, Coutinho, Lallanaa, Balotelli.

Right wing back to: Markovic and Ibe. I'd start Markovic as he's missing the next 3 EL games.

    Mignolet
    Can Skrtel Sakho
    Markovic Henderson Allen Moreno
    Sterling
    Sturridge Balotelli

He was very good - probably our best player after Ibe.

What exactly did he do? As I can't say I remember any efforts of note (aside from the stolen penalty like <whistle>)

Occupied defenders, created space for Sturridge, hold up play was excellent and brought others into play and won free kicks. Got the hockey assist as also which set up Ibe to win the penalty. Again, it's no coincidence that we looked better once he came on - just like we did against Palace.

Players can play well without scoring or assisting - although Sky want us to think otherwise. <ok>

It was a half decent cameo appearance, nothing more imo.

What he gives you is a focal point, that then allows Sturridge to drop off and look for space, that's more about his physicality compared to the ineffective Coutinho that he replaced, rather than his ability though.

We have Schneiderlin back alongside Wanyama in midfield. Good luck getting past them.
