WTF you talking about, you are supposed to wrap sandwiches up in the tinfoil, not smoke the stuff.. From Hull ffs, ****ing get some glasses man, yer daft twat..
It was you that said it mate not me, see it was a direct quote from Sky! Haha I knew the Hull thing would get you, I noticed it before I posted but decided to leave it in anyway
That's our job mate. Besides, Poyet has held his hands up, or been asked to by Short, and now the supporters have to respond. The choice is between acting like bairns or taking the chance to back the team, if we cheer and they go on to lose then we're blameless. If we don't then you can be sure the media will jump on it and tar us with the 'West Ham/Allardyce - Arsenal/Wenger' brush. Any future manager should feel the Sunderland supporters will give people a chance. I'm sure the situation at Newcastle, where they've been booing people out of jobs for years, makes credible managers think twice about risking it. They're gaining a reputation as serial dummy-spitters having hounded out a series of managers from Robson through Allardyce to Pardew. I don't want us to be seen as spoiled bairns in the same way tbh.
Yep, you got me hook line & sinker Terry Had one to many last night, must stop this in the house boozing, getting a bit to regular..
This is what I was trying to say earlier, I am on the fence about Gus, he is not living up to expectations and I dont think he has the nous to change it around. But we are in grave danger of the season falling apart, and like it or not the only way out at this point is to stick together imo. As a footnote to this post can I add that have never doubted for one second the strength and loyalty of the real Sunderland supporters who contribute to our forum, and its the club and premiership survival that is now at stake . Ha-way the lads
Pure PR stunt, the club have told him to put this out because they still back him but sense the ill feeling. Gus can still turn it around, simply by picking the right team and playing to our strengths. I was at the Celtic game last night, and the difference in quality was staggering, Celtic, however, knew they were strong down the right (their RB was superb, by the way...) so they focused on that, all 3 goals came that way. Not forced philosophy, played to strengths. As a sidenote, **** me did the crowd get behind the team, 0-2 12 mins, and noise and backing was incredible. Sidenote 2, Flash was in goal for them apparently he's been magic, he had an absolute stinker, and still kicks every ball out left for a throw in.
Excellent point and surely a fundamental in any team. Poyet wants players to do what they're not comfortable with. Typical Terry may confirm that Brown & Shea only had 2 jobs in all those years at Man Utd. 1) Stop the opposition and give the ball to a football player. 2) Stop the opposition and give the ball to a football player.
It's not rocket science is it Smug, we know we are short in some areas so we should concentrate on where we are strong, tada! Just based on that game last night and the damage done down one channel, well, set the team up to exploit PVA's pace and directness, it may seem 1D but Celtic tried the same passing triangle to get in down the right a bunch of times, then it came of twice in a minute. Facts are though, we DO have players to play the passing game at pace, but Gus would rather bench them and play Gomez, who has about as much pace as the building I live in.
Poyet should watch Gomez as AJ scores against Newcastle in the 1-0. Fletcher, who's been defending, is way behind Gomez as Buckley starts the move. By the time AJ scores, seconds later, Fletcher is 10 yards ahead of Gomez. He seems totally uninterested ........... it's sheer dereliction on duty.
He does have a decent first touch, but that really is it. Oh, takes a decent pen. He kills all momentum, plain and simple.
When is Cattermole back ffs, we really need him ......... he wouldn't have thrown the towel in a Bradford.
Back in training I think, it's a knee thing though so we don't want him rushed. We need him back though, for Villa in particular.
He actually has quite a lot in his locker! I've seen him shoot from range, Cross, Free kicks, corners and Penalties. But never all in the same game!! Goal against Brum in the cup was a cracker. Great penalty taker. But in open play he offers nothing (or less!). So slow in thought when he has the ball and so slow in pace when he doesn't! If he gets the ball in a 3 v 1 break you can guarantee it'll be 3 v 5 by the time he passes it to someone! and It'll go backwards!!
Aye if we had rolling subs and could hoy him on for dead balls there may be some value. We don't. Ha.
Craig Gardner mark two in my eyes. Play it down the left and concentrate of PVA and Alverez's strength going forward. We're a decent side.
