Caretaker boss Chris Ramsey has been named manager until the end of the season. Beeb article here... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31445071
He's got us looking more organised in his 2 games than Redknapp had, & there seems to be a good feeling around the decision from the players. So hopefully we can new manager bounce are way out of it!! You Rs!
Jack's only bitter because they look like being stuck with that Pearson person for the rest of the season...
I was going to start a similar thread once Pearson was reinstated with you lot but thought better of it. Wish I had now.
Credit where its due Tony Fernandes said hes not throwing money at it any more, so hes going with the flow and whatever happens happens.
I feel really sorry for him actually as i think he is a very good chairman and a very supportive figure towards his managers, as well as throwing money towards whatever they say they need, and has really been let down by his players and managers
He's certainly been let down by managers and some players. There have certainly been a lot that put the effort and energy in every week for little reward or recognition. Players like Charlie Austin grab headlines for the right reasons, but Green, Henry, Dunne, Caulker, Isla and - never really thought I'd say this - Barton this season have pretty much always put in a shift. Others we've thankfully shipped out, like Samba, Remy, Morrison, Assou-Ekotto, M'bia, we are well rid of. From everything we know of Chris Ramsey, things may hopefully be changing... As for throwing money, the only one this window that didn't happen was Andre Ayew of Ghana. I liked the look of him in the ACoN, but maybe there's less to him week in, week out.
Yeah but i think thats the problem - the sort of players that do give their all, such as Hill, Austin, Derry (previous seasons too), Dunne etc are the ones which arent really good enough for the premier league. Caulker has suprised me a bit this season - i think he has looked quite poor but then again i am only basing that on MOTD when normally with QPR, like us, they only really show the goals. Barton these days i actually quite like - his reputation has that bad that he will never recover from it - but he gives 100% for his team no matter what and genuinely turned the corner i think. What im not sure of is why the players who dont care are like they are. People like Samba etc have all had successful careers either in the premier league or elsewhere and from experience i can tell you that its far more fun when your actually caring and playing well rather than half-heartedly turning up each week and losing. I think the problem is that when you have a squad ethos like that it is very difficult to get rid of that - and we were like that too until NP came in and sorted that out. Most of it all comes down still to the Mark Hughes era who, for someone who is actually a very good manager, just got it all wrong and didnt know what to do with all the money - probably pressured by too much expectation too soon. I think with Ramsey it will help. From what i have read about him, he seemed a real good-guy and him and Fernandes appear to have agreed to attempt to ship out these players and build a better squad. You could go down, but with someone like him in charge the bigger picture isnt too bad. Obviously if you stay up it is better, but IF you do go down, he (or TFs 'dream manager'...) will sort out the squad and ensure that when you do come back up (which at some point a club of your size will) you'll be better equipped to strengthen and stay there for longer. Thats how im sort of seeing our club now. Yes, we may go down, but clubs go up and down all the time, whether its after 1 season or after 4-5 seasons and its all about having the nucleus which wont implode if you go down, but instead will allow you to sensibly keep the majority of the squad, whilst allowing you to sell 2-3 key players to balance the books, and be in a position again to come back up again to have another crack.
When the cash was being thrown around by Eccleston and Briatore - or the promise of cash - we were instantly seen as a payday, the football equivalent of Wonga Loans with Alzheimers, cos we just gave out money. And certain players (most obviously Jose Boswinga) took the piss royaly. Hopefully, the days where we're seen as an easy way to boost a player's pension pot are now long gone.
Chris Ramsey comes across as a thoroughly decent, well respected man. Liked by his players, the football media and football fans in general. A good CV and a great experience. He has every chance of keeping QPR up, a lot better than some anyway.
Well, im finally n the majority at f-ing last. CR is a decent bloke who deserves a decent chance. Personally if he starts to change our style and play how we want too then i'd keep him regardless of whether we go down or not. Its prob ab it to early to say that but it does appear the "feel good" factor is slowly emerging. The only time id go against that would be if Paul Clement wanted to take us over on a long term contract. I'm pretty confident he's every QPR supporters "dream manager" and it really will depend on how Ancellotti and Madrid do this season. Even then, he may be out as Real dont tend to hang on to managers do they. PC's fate is intertwinned with Ancelloti's and id hate to miss out on him esp as the history he has with QPR. Like I've said all season, i can (barely) stomach us going down if i see progress in our team. I want to see more effort and an entertaining style of play with younger players willing to give it a decent go. Sadly, i guess im fter the Leicester role model, but i'd also like a couple of "old heads" to mentor and guide the younger players coming through. It appears that is the one thing you guys are lacking. ie. For all his faults, Dunne is a great mentor for Caulker or Ned given his Prem experience... Must say, this was a bit of a bravely titled thread to post on this board, given your position.
It was merely a joke, and I appreciate the irony given that we are bottom. Some people take posts wayyyyy too seriously on this board [That's not aimed at you Queens, just certain other people who post on this board!]
Haha good old Queeny. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer was he. His beloved Rangers failed yet again. Don't hear mush from Carmine either surprise surprise
